tim79ta - Agreed on the intro. That's why I posted it as an alternate fingering over 6 months ago. :)
Slide a first position D up to the 7th and 8th frets and it's the same 3 notes as the harmonics. That's a G chord.
The B sounds dissonant to me. I posted 2 sounds clips playing the bass along with part of the track. One with Eb and one with B. Hear for yourself.

I agree that the Eb is the right note for the bass line but the guitar is playing a B7 chord ( B Eb A B and F# ) The bass isn't using the root note of the chord.
