The G/F# and D/C# bother me a little. There is something about those chords that just irritates me. Not in this song, but in general. I don't like the sound of those chords. Maybe I'm not playing them right, but I skip over them in this song. Other than that, great job.

I'm with tpmadden. I just play the chord listed first in place of those so G and D is what I play in their place when I play and sing this song.

Those are transition chords - they walk you "up" or "down" to the next chord. You can hear it in the song as you follow the bass and, if you play alone, it adds character to the song. Alot of my tabs have them. It's definitely not mandatory...
