Chord Runs Lesson by lmofle
I like to use a lot of “fillers” on songs and by that I mean sounds
between the words (when you're not singing between lines). I like a
lot of hammer-on’s and runs. And bluegrass pickers use it a lot. If
you listen to the song “Uncle Pen” by Ricky Skaggs, the ending riff
after “you can hear it talk, you can hear it sing” then the riff. It
can be played in many places and that is what I will try to show
here. You can add in variations where you need it. When you do the 0-
1-2 that is a hammer on run where you pick the root note and run your
fingers to the notes without picking them. IE- In G pick the A string
first (After you pick the 6th string) then run the fingers thru the
1 2 position. When you do it, you will hear what I am referring to.
