Blues Scale Lesson by axehappy
This is a scale which is used a lot when soloing over
blues/rock progressions. (Which are both used in country)
I have put the two versions I know, both of which are in A
in this example, but the shape stays the same wherever you
take it.
I've written them forwards and backwards.

E----------------------5-8---8-5-----------------------|
B------------------5-8-----------8-5-------------------|
G--------------5-7-------------------7-5---------------|
D----------5-7---------------------------7-5-----------|
A------5-7-----------------------------------7-5-------|
E--5-8-------------------------------------------8-5---|

The other version is this:

E--------------------------5-8-8-5-------------------------|
B----------------------5-8---------8-5---------------------|
G----------------5-7-8-----------------8-7-5---------------|
D------------5-7-----------------------------7-5-----------|
A------5-6-7-------------------------------------7-6-5-----|
E--5-8-------------------------------------------------8-5-|

A lot of the solos you'll hear are actually based on this
scale!
