I think you might find that a DMINOR Chord sounds better then the D.

to a minor sound but the guitar is a major chord which is the
Bb...also make sure you've drop D tuned.

xx3331 i believe that its a Bb (B flat). also, i might add that the D
chord sounds good, these people use lots of guitars when they record
in the studio, or they mix it well, try not to play the high e when
the D chord is played in the song, but rather just play the 2nd, 3rd,
4th adn 5th strings. the tab looks good, excellent job

-icedesperado | 7/10/2004 | it is def a Dm chord.... i agree that they tend to not play the hi E but the scale of which the singer sings is in Dm not D major...if u wanna be realy picky play a D5 chord, but i recomend staying away from bar chords when playing bluegrass, cos u want the full sound of an open chord. (i learnt that at a bluegrass convention) therefore try the minor chord but also at the same time try and mute or not hit the e strings at all....
