all I have to say about that is... wow...
from the lyrics alone, you wouldn't be able
to tell if this song was rap or rock. I'd
never expect this to be country of all things.

-dwh1587 | 7/19/2004
thanks for tabin this out. I can't wait to play it

-azflyangler87 | 7/19/2004
Yeah it threw me at the end when the guy started rapping, I
guess if they want to be different than any other artist they
are succeeding. :o)
-Shantel | 7/19/2004
HAHAHAHAHAHA. This is crap. I will admit
that there are a 'few' decent songs
on their album, but this is nothing but
(c)rap music.
-WildCard76 | 7/20/2004
personally i think big and rich goes hard but can anyone tab out the little riff in this song
-rettuc2006 | 7/20/2004
Very Very Well said there Creekflatts. Embrace this different style
of country. I have never liked anything in the country genre since
early 90's...till these guys.
-lancehicks | 8/4/2004
Country music, as does all music fringes on
many areas, rock, blues, classical, etc. If
one wants to narrow their interest fine, but
it's a fun song and more fun to play. If you
think your music knowledge exceeds that of your
neighbor then maybe you need to go learn to play
Toby Keith's song " The Critic" and pay close
attention to the lyrics. Play on Ya'll
-john_wagnon | 8/8/2004
I love country music, and this definitely
isn't country. But its a damn cool song.
Good tab.
-mystikal1116 | 8/9/2004
I wonder how many people had these same "This ain't country" comments
about Johnny Cash when he first came out. He was just as different
than what was coming out then, as these guys are now.
-armeeb0i | 8/14/2004
what you all complaing about country is gettin newer everyday this
is just the ideal they see it..and i think its kewl b'cuz its fun to
play on guitar...and can neone tab out Saved by Big&Rich? email me
when you do fish_man4@hotmail.com
-lil_playa | 9/8/2004
How can you compare these guys to Johnny Cash? Do y'all even know
who Johnny Cash is? I bet he would never think of doing a song which
mixes country with lil jon
-jordan mergele | 9/9/2004
Just depends on if you love country because of the music or country
because of the name........country. Keep your type casting.I'll take
the music everytime...Keep Rollin'!!!

I think it rocks the are putting some diff stuff in there, why not have some fun with musicka
-huntinguy88 | 10/28/2004
...Funny, but in my defense of all musical genres, I use Johnny Cash music, (Jerry Reed, too) as examples of early rap. Do "Y'all" remember "A Boy Named Sue?"... or "Amos Moses" ?!!! Also, hon- don't ever forget - Johnny Cash was all about being yourself... and not falling into a line, just because someone thought he should. Have we finally lost ALL freedom in this country... I mean, I figured there were a few weeks more, at least!!! By the way- take a listen again (hopefully) to a Johnny Cash song called "What is Truth"...pretty much sums up Cash's feelings about youth and new ideas.
-Mrsblu66 | 11/9/2004
If you like country music, then you like Hank Williams Jr. and he happens to be a really big fan of these 2. and we all know that he has always been a little on the wild side.
-firemanffd669 | 11/10/2004
OMG... Johnny Cash did a Nine Inch Nails song, and god forbid even worse, a Danzig song..... lmao people are a bunch of retards fightin about what category they fall into... obviously Johnny wasn't as narrow minded as the people viewing these tabs that shouldn't even be lookin' at em' in the first place if they dont like them....
As I said in my post on the intro to this song, if you dont like it, dont listen, and i'll try not to drown us all a with my tears as I cry for you when you have your button pushing induced fit when you hit your "tune" button on the radio.... roflmao Anyway, thanks Shantel, sounds right on to me...;)
-travo777 | 11/22/2004
instead of "just want to hear everybody sing" its "just want to hear everybody SAY"
-TGcountry | 11/28/2004
The basic Idea about johny cash ... with what
is being said about the difference in music
for the time of country music in OUR generation? Take another look @ someone else
Elvis for that matter. People critisized his
Hip movments and sexual gestures...But he is just as much rock as Big and rich is country. He created his own style or rock
Just what Big kenny had in mind when he
formed the group. Their own style. It's
amazing that someone can come up with a new
style of music considered how many their are
out there. It is nothing more then a
sub-genre in country music. It's like
slow country, and rock country. Just another
sub-genre mixed into the melting pot of
country music. Who likes Rascal Flatts?
Damn good country group but Gary Levoux sounds nothing like the stereotyped country
voice...No tang, just nasal. And he is amazing. IT's great they have rap in country. I hate rap but it is bold and brave to stick something like that out on the shelves:)
-CountryRocks | 12/19/2004
If you ask me about any of this stuff, i like big & rich, i think people should just forget about genera and listen to the music they like and not worry about which category it fits in.
-guitargurl35 | 2/20/2005
I hear a songwriter describe this group,
the other night. She called them a
'spectacle'. I could not agree more.
-WildCard76 | 2/21/2005
These guys are awsome, no question. Making the kind of music they want and hoping people like it. Some will and some wont.

Kid Rock bought rap into country with Hank Jnr and also some of his own stuff could be considered country too.

Just listen and enjoy. If you like it, tell everyone. if you dont, keep quiet and let me enjoy it.
-takerUK | 3/3/2005
The good thing about country is this: it is open to anyone and everyone.
Big Kenny and John Rich are as country as Alan Jackson or George Jones:
they just have a different interpreation of what constitutes country
music. If you don't like the music, then why in God's name
are you lookin at the tabs for their songs?

Great job on the tab, Shantel. You're one of the few people
who consistently hits the bull's eye.
-twizzle05 | 3/5/2005
this is just me. but i like to play this song in drop D tuning.

Love everybody
-Lenderman_k | 3/9/2005
Do you guys even know what country music is, big and rich sucks, if Johnny Cash were here he'd "take a hit of cocaine, and shoot {Big and Rich} down" Im with mergs
-naterman1 | 3/10/2005
To embrace tolerance is to cease to
believe in anything.
-WildCard76 | 4/29/2005
Like Big and Rich or not, you have to give them credit for taking the risk with this song to help a friend....yes help a friend. Cowboy Troy had no record deal and no real way to be heard, heck, no one had ever heard of him. He just released his first cd not two weeks ago. I wont say that Cash would have went out of his way to put lil john on a cd, but i know he was MAN enough to help a friend git a start, even if his friend was a rapper. and yes, compare Cash with his contemporaries. he was every bit as over the edge at that time as B&R is now. When it comes down to it, you have to say screw genre lines and listen to what "moves your soul."

oh yeah, great tab shantel, i've never found one of yours that isnt perfect
-henry | 5/25/2005
"To embrace tolerance is" WHAT?!!
Hey wildcard (ironic title...)
R U a Neo-Con?
...-Or just a communist?

There's only one thing I completely do not agree with...
people who hate Freedom, and freedom of expression.
How truly sad...
-Mrsblu66 | 6/18/2005
i think the song rocks and you gotta hand it to Big and Rich for doin somethin different instead of the same sound everone has.
-fretboardfreak | 6/23/2005
Who ever said this song was crap is a dumbass. Who are you to say any thing?
-amandatomboy13 | 7/13/2005
wow dude how could you hate on this song or on Big & Rich and not hate on Garth, Tim or Kenny who combine country music with a different genre...this hybrid style is sick and is definitely a huge contributor to the recent popularity of country music...good tab
