re "I can't get rythm..." think of a metronome swinging WAY over from side to side... it's also important on a lot of songs like this (and funk) to leave out a lot.... think of "word up!" the empty spaces are as important as what you play...
the number one thing that new players face is the temptation to beat the hell out of a song... get back to basics... remember to play the 4/4 beat and not a lot of extra stuff that Frank Zappa called "clouds of pentatonic gnat-notes"...
slow down, take a breath, dont put everything in there that you can figure out how to jam in... get some Old Eric Clapton records and think of all the stuff he COULD HAVE jammed into those Cream songs... -georgeb1954 | 3/21/2005
