Capo 3

(Intro) Asus4, A, Asus4, A, Asus4, A, G

(Verse 1)
    F#m7 A/G# A
When I get where I'm going
       D F#m7 D
On the far side of the sky
    D E A F#m7
The first thing that I'm gonna do
    D A E
Is spread my wings and fly

(Verse 2)
         F#m7 A/G# A
I'm gonna land beside a lion
           D F#m7 D
And run my fingers through his mane
   D E A F#m7
Or I might find out what it's like
    D A E
To ride a drop of rain

(Chorus 1)
          D
Yeah when I get where I'm going
            A
There'll be only happy tears
        E
I will shed the sins and struggles
       D A
I have carried all these years
         D
And I'll leave my heart wide open
       F#m
I will love and have no fear
          E
Yeah when I get where I'm going
                      A
Don't cry for me down here

(Verse 3)
I'm gonna walk with my grand daddy
And he'll match me step for step
And I'll tell him how I missed him
Every minute since he left
Then I'll hug his neck

(Chorus 2)
          D
Yeah when I get where I'm going
            A
There'll be only happy tears
        E
I will shed the sins and struggles
        D A
I have carried all these years
         D
And I'll leave my heart wide open
       F#m
I will love and have no fear
         E
Yeah when I get where I'm going
                      A
Don't cry for me down here

(Bridge)
        C
So much pain and so much darkness
        D
In this world we stumble through
           F
All these questions I can't answer
                G
So much work to do

(Verse 4)
But when I get where I'm going
And I see my maker's face
I'll stand forever in the light
Of his amazing grace

(Ending Chorus)
Yeah when I get where I'm going
There'll be only happy tears
Hallelujah
I will love and have no fear
When I get where I'm going
Yeah when I get where I'm going

(Ending) F#m7, A/G#, A, D, A, D

Johnny Cash did this song on his Ballads of the True West album in 1966(?). But he did it in the key of G. Only he could get that low!!! Great tab!!!
-tyler1501 | 10/10/2005
Wow, great job. Sounds great. One thing I added playing was an Esus in the last verse:

"..his amazing g[Esus]ra[E]ace..."

If that makes any sense. Let me know what you all think.

Great tab!
-dahbus | 12/7/2005
Great Chord layout. An awesome song from the best IMHO guitarist in country music today, besides Keith Urban. I absolutely love this song. And to have Dolly on his album just rocks even more. Especially the little skit on the end of the Album, Cornography. And who can't forget the man himself George Jones.
-madtabber | 12/20/2005
Next to Keith Urban? I have to disagree. Brad, hands down, the best. In my opinion, anyway.
-DBrown8755 | 12/22/2005
can someone tab this out? i know he dont just strum.
O btw brad is a much better guitarist than that austrailian.
-g.w.lindsey | 12/27/2005
To even compare Brad to Keith is a mistake...Hands down, Brad is the best Guitarist in Country Music History, and he sings. Otherwise, great tab.
-Scoozie | 12/27/2005
Best guitarist in country music history????? I wouldn't quite go to that extent. Keith is an amazing guitarist and he just has his own style of playing so does Brad. One isnt any better than the other but neither are the best ever in country music. It's hard to say who is the best ever because they all have different styles....Chet Atkins, Vince Gill, Steve Warner, Brent Mason, and even Marty Stuart are some that come to mind right away that rank up at the top. There just isnt any way to judge who is better.......they are both exceptional guitarist.

-denalitwinkie2s | 12/28/2005
im kinda like a beginner does anyone no a diffrent way to play "A/G#"?
i have problems streching my pinky that far
thanks

Anyone Know The Pick Pattern?
-RockinRedneck89 | 1/3/2006
now look here, trendsetters, keith urban kicks arse. bet you blokes are yanks. if ever there is a better driver for modern country music that keeps the country sound in his songs, its keith. dunno what you guys are on about, not puttin keith up there among the best. bugger the lot of ya. jealous bastards, can't stand the fact that australia's the last 'truly free' country in the world. and that you guys are tic tac cocks.
-ratman | 1/10/2006
Yea, Brad is much better than Keith...Keith in my opinion is just eye candy for the ladies. No comparison between Brad and that other guy. Country music is American...not Australian by the way, and while Australia may be okay, the US of A is still the greatest country in the world no comparison! put that in your pipe & smoke it, Aussie!
-bnbharty | 1/10/2006
I'm not sure about the D F#m7 D progression on the second line of each verse. To me, the D A D progression sounds better. It certainly is easier pater to finger, at least from my point of view. Listening to the sound is sounds better too. Thoughts?
-bnbharty | 1/11/2006
well I dont think America is greatest country in the world. But I dont think you can say Australia is free. You do have all your towns and streets named after English people after all and your flag even has the english flag minimized in it. Free? HAHA.
-Knopfler | 1/15/2006
OH gimme a freakin break! Shaddap about the whole Brad and Keith thing! Both of them are simply amazing. And for you traditionlists who don't like Keith, check out his track "Rollercoaster".... I'm pretty sure he can play whatever you throw at him. And for Brad Paisley....take Buck Owens, Chet Atkins, Haggard, Strait, and Cash, trow them in a mixing bowl with a cowboy hat and a guitar, and you get PAISLEY. He is definitly the leader in TRADITIONAL country. Both of them are awesome and as a final note, I'm sure they could whoop any one of you on the guitar. SO SHADDAP!
-Orin_Walker | 1/26/2006
AMEN to that! Keith is simply the best. Brad is good too, but Keith is still number one.
-urbancowboy1990 | 1/26/2006
Keith Urban is not a 'country' guitarist,
though. Brad is nothing BUT a country.
-WildCard76 | 1/27/2006
When it comes to guitar skill and talent I am sure that they can play each others songs without much trouble. They both can sing, but I'd have to give BP the edge on vocals. After seeing each one of these guys several times in concert, I would say Urban brings more energy to the stage but thats his type of music. BP is more old school country where a constantly rockin' stage (like Urban)isn't part of his type of music, although it still kicks ass. BTW, this song is awesome.
-offroadpsu | 1/27/2006
how anyone could say Urban is better than Brad is virging on the ridiculous. There is no compare whatsoever. Brad Paisley is one the best guitar players from this decade. Urban is great too but just not in brad's tracks. Rollercoaster is a good instrumental but its only stuff anyone with a little bit of skill can play easily, brad's instrumentals on the other hand need brilliance to be able to copy.
-Knopfler | 1/27/2006
Keith is better than Brad. Period. I like Brad, but
Keith puts a lot more energy into his music. Maybe it's
just b/c I don't listen to a lot of traditional country,
but that's my opinion.
-brookroad | 1/28/2006
definatley...Urban is the best. and if there is any doubts you should check him out live!!!
-scottie_l_17 | 1/30/2006
sorry but this tab is obviously wrong. THere is like 5 note your missing in the chorus
-martinacoustix1 | 1/31/2006
u fix it then since you know how to play it....or why dont you just watch it... http://www.strippedmusic.com/arch_paisley.html it wouldn't have been rated a 10 if it wasn't right
-denalitwinkie2s | 1/31/2006
This is a great tab I’m a beginner and it’s a good way to help to build my chord changing skill although I am still having a little trouble but it’ll work out with practice I would definitely recommend it for beginners as for the whole brad vs. Keith stink everyone’s stirring up I lean towards brad
-clinchedfists1 | 2/1/2006
I Would Say Brad Also He Is More Traditional Country
-RockinRedneck89 | 2/1/2006
Hi everyone. 2nd chord is really an E/G#. The second line might be D Esus F#m7.
-alfie2020 | 2/1/2006
Hey, you can say all you want but, Keith is a great guitarist but Brad Paisley is in his own class, he does stuff that stands out, Keith seems like the ordinary guitarist. Paisley goes outside of the standard and goes beyond. There is no doubt about it. Nothing else said.
-pata320 | 2/1/2006
Looking for BradPaisley/JohnMayer concert video or audio.........HELP....
-LITOKA | 2/5/2006
Brad Paisley is on a higher level than
Keith Urban.
-WildCard76 | 2/5/2006
ok.... the tabs great...but as for the keith brad thing... i gotta say .. brad obviously does have the more traditional sound...but keith is way more electrifying on guitar. to say that he doesnt even compare to brad is just stupid. Have you even seen keith live... he rocks the EFF out on guitar. Check out his dvd on raining on suday, free fallin, homespun love, and you won, and the hammers on your not alone tonight are crazy. but yea as for the aussie vs. america thing.... us "yanks" got cha beat there bud!
-FenderFan521 | 2/6/2006
I like them both but keith is way more fun than brad. I enjoy watching keith more than brad! Urban ROCKS!!
-V0tef0rpedro10 | 2/13/2006
I would like to see brad play kith's Rollercoaster song!! but tell then Kith it the Man!!
-Yoda | 2/14/2006
First of all great tab! Second, I work at Rupp Arena in Lexington, KY so I've seen and met them both and seen all of there gear and heard them play on and off stage. They're both great guys and a great players but the whole comparison thing is stupid.Your trying to compare two totally different styles. Urban plays almost everything out of the major and minor blues and pentatonic scales. Paisley plays out of a lot of chords, jazz, and bluegrass scales.
-3fan4life | 2/14/2006
You can't truly say one is better than the other. Urban is more technical and plays mostly in scales. Paisleys solos are chord shape based and more traditional. But when you are talking the best you guys are obviously forgetting Vince Gill and Chet Atkins. Buy the Eric Clapton Crossroads Guitar Festival DVD and watch it. You are also forgetting Dan Tyminski and Ron Block of Union Station and I know its a dobro but howabout longtime running musician of the year Jerry Douglas. Keith and Brad are both amazing but watch your mouths when you are talking the best. Remember no two are alike that is what makes them their own people. If they were all the same it would be boring. Its like saying Stevie Ray was better than Clapton. You can't say that because they were both guitar gods and played very different. So just enjoy the music and play it how you want not how other people do and maybe we will be arguing about you on here one day.
-stephen2130 | 2/15/2006
Nice work on this tab. I'm new to this site, and I guess you could say I'm sort of a new country music fan... change of pace for me after years and years of playing rock and blues. I just couldn't resist commenting on the whole Paisley/Urban thing... DEAR LORD PEOPLE! I like Keith as much as the next guy, but I'd bet he'd even say that Paisley is in another league! Players like Brad come along MAYBE once every generation... just like Chet Atkins. I know the whole "style and emotion" argument... but PUHLEESE! :-)
-jvasil | 2/18/2006
Watch Keith Urban play "Devil Went Down to Nashville". I agree with the comment that both are great guitarists with their own styles. I think there are alot of Keith critics because he doesn't fit the traditional theme. After you see him in concert or watch him in the "Devil Went Down to Nashville" video I think some of you critics would become fans.
