THis is the full tab, absolutely has to be correct. This is the first tab that
I have ever tabbed out, and I have been playing for 8 years, so please correct
me if I am wrong.

I also added the chords to the Intro right above the tab. That pull-off sounds
better than the Open picking at that last G.

This is for finger-picking. If you are struming the chords, it sounds really
cool to hammer on and off still yet at the
A, G, A part. Try it.

If you have any more questions email me at micah87 at bellsouth.net.

h= hammer on
p= pull-off
*= The asterisk on a the line represents that the notes that are indicated on the
string thereafter are optional bass notes that add and excellent addition to the
song.

It's kind of hard to put the words right up with the song, but for your conveinence,
I am posting the lyrics along with this tab, the words are rather
(Post-tabulous). . . or maybe not, lol, here you go.

She put him out like the burning end of a midnight cigarette
She broke his heart he spent his whole life trying to forget
We watched him drink his pain away a little at a time
But he never could get drunk enough to get her off his mind A Until tonight...

Chorus 1:
He put that bottle to his head and pulled the trigger
And finally drank away her memory
Life is short but this time it was bigger
Than the strength he had to get up off his knees
They found him with his face down in the pillow
With a note that said I'll love her til I die
And when we buried him beneath the willow
The angel's sang a whiskey lullaby
La la la la la la la, La la la la la la la
La la la la la la la, La la la la la la la

The rumors flew but nobody knew how much she blamed herself
For years and years she tried to hide the whiskey on her breath
She finally drank her pain away a little at a time
But she never could get drunk enough to get him off her mind A Until the night...

Chorus 2:
She put that bottle to her head and pulled the trigger
And finally drank away his memory
Life is short but this time it was bigger
Than the strength she had to get up off her knees
We found her with her face down in the pillow
Clinging to his picture for dear life
We laid her next to him beneath the willow
While angel's sang a whiskey lullaby
La la la la la la la, La la la la la la la (repeat to fade)

decent...a good variation, and goes well with the song, but not too
close to the actual way brad plays it. works well tho if your just
singin by yourself.....the intro is kinda confusin tho...but since
your rest of the tab must be the way YOU like to play it, i guess the
intro fits in with that as well, but pretty far off than the actual
way on the cd.

awesome job!!!

When you play the G in the verse, instead of doing a 0h3 try a 2/3.
Sliding it makes it sound a bit more accurate, or atleast i think so.
-realgoodman | 8/26/2004
You are forgetting the hammer-on's during the verse
-foutzdj | 8/30/2004
This tab is pretty dang close, i think transparentdemo has been smokin
something though: his intro sounds way out of key. Personally, i
thought the intro in the tab was pretty good, and that my only nag
would be to finger pick it on the last part, it makes it sound pretty
cool. Good Tab over all though, thanks. .).)

-WildCard76 | 10/23/2004
beautiful tab, some of the people have no clue
-outlaw2269 | 11/2/2004
Good job with the tab man...keep up the good work. Let us all here in learner's land know when you got more good stuff...and uh...transparentdemo...you are smoking something....if you think for a minute that there is one D# in that intro, you're sadly mistaken...it WOULD throw the entire song out of key. Anyone who knocks this tab is a no-guitar-playing homo and should be swiftly kicked in the nuts. Good job to whoever the hell submitted this tab.
-strat0ma5ter | 11/8/2004
auesome tab i just started playing though so this is way to advanced for me im good with just struming the chords but this is auesome
-timcgrady | 11/11/2004

-gelgass | 11/19/2004
nicely done, there appears to be a few minor mistakes, but i believe that you need the baritone guitar in the background to get the full effect. i do believe this one is 100%.
-kevinhill | 12/1/2004
the tab sounds awesome, great job.
-sean316 | 12/3/2004

-Gellein | 1/1/2005
The intro is wrong ... It sounds great, but Brad plays a lot of different notes on the 1,2 and 3rd strings .
-EP-Warlord | 1/3/2005
Great job on the tab....everything looks right and everyone seems to like it but i just wanted to say that this site sucks!! it wont even let u copy and paste the tabs to a word document to print! and u have to "upgrade for only 9 cents" jus to print it! who ever is running this site should really think about pleasing its people who view it! thanks alot. bye

p.s. i wont be visting this site anymore...C YA!!!!!
-Rngrsairbrn | 1/4/2005
In order to copy and paste to a word document. . . I prefer pasting to notepad or wordpad, but neways all you have to do is highlight the text, then go to edit on the toolbar, then you select copy, then you open up your word processer and right click the white space, then select paste, and it will paste for you.
-micah87 | 1/4/2005

I think all of the intro attempts sound pretty good... maybe if you combine all of them it will sound just right... good luck with growing the extra 6 hands and arms it will take to play it all though... Keep up the good work!!!
-garrettlm7 | 3/20/2005
ithe intro should be:

-jophezie | 3/23/2005
good job on the tab, ive been playin for about 20 years, its a good starter, for others to figure out how to play it, there is a few open b string hits in the beginning where the other guitar comes in though, ill figure it out, but thanks for the start, makes my life easy lol. and as for the hammer ons you left out in the tab, dont worry about it, we get it, even brad dont play this the same everytime, kinda make your own hammer ons through the song and itll sound good no matter what. keep up the good work.
-jizzmuch | 3/26/2005
p.s. lol. it definatly is a 2 (4) (4) beginning the second guitar doesnt come in till the D picking.
-jizzmuch | 3/26/2005
could someone explain the term hammering on please
-aaron6000 | 4/1/2005
hammering on is when you play one note, take low "e" for instance, and then you place your finger down WITHOUT strumming or picking that next note. so i could hammer on from an E to an F, but you only play the E. - hope I helped.
-mandaleigh | 4/3/2005
im playing this, and i dont think im picking it right or something cause my guitar sounds different.
-KnoxGodoy3 | 4/24/2005
i think this is bang on the money apart from that last section i think its a slide from 3-5 then back down and ends on the A.but the rest of it though, well done, sounds good to me
-riccosuabe | 4/29/2005
The tab was great I think you did a great job on it, its the best one I've found so far.
-Jimwaynefan | 4/29/2005

-slingshot27 | 6/21/2005
thanks slingshot, i am totally sure that's it's right as it is now, because i have listened to the suggestions and things and listened to the music to see if the people were right, and it sounds perfect now. awesome times. Micah -The tabber

I've been teaching myself how to play for about a year and a half. Although I'm not very good a reading tabs, I think this tab is great. From what I can tell, it's pretty close if not dead on.
-Cowboy1308 | 9/29/2005
I have always played the intro like this, and I think it sounds the best...
