Intro -- E, B, A - Repeat

Verse 1

  E B
Connie came back for her second cousin's wedding
  A
First time she'd been home in 'bout a year or two
  E B
Just in time for the rehearsal dinner
 A B
But that crazy Connie wasn't wearing any shoes

Chorus

              E B
She lives in L.A., she flies to New York City
       A
That woman's been around the world
                   E B
You can take that girl out of the honky tonk
         A
But you can't take the honky tonk,
                               B
You can't take the honky tonk out of the girl

Verse 2

           E B
Well the dinner broke up at about 11:30
         A
And the boys went off to do what boys do
   E B
Connie said come here girls let's huddle up
  A B
Around something that's a hundred proof

Repeat Chorus

Verse 3

           E B
Well it's nine a.m. out in front of that church
   A
People are going nuts just looking for the groom
   E B
Somebody says hey by the way where's Connie
 A B
She's run off with that boy to Cancun

Repeat Chorus
