Capo 1st Fret

Intro: G G/B C D

   G
Standing at the back door

She tried to make it fast
Em
One tear hit the hard wood

It fell like broken glass
             C
She said sometimes love slips away
          D
And you just can't get it back
       G
Let's face it

     G
For one split second

She almost turned around
               Em
But that would be like pouring rain drops

Back into a cloud
        C
So she took another step and said
   D G
I see the way out and I'm gonna' take it

Chorus:

G
I don't wanna' spend my life jaded
            Em
Waiting to wake up one day and find
        C D
That I let all these years go by
  G
Wasted

   G
Another glass of whiskey but it still don't kill the pain
        Em
So he stumbles to the sink and pours it down the drain
              C D
He said it's time to be a man and stop living for yesterday
       G
Gotta Face it.

Chorus:

       G
Cause' I don't wanna' spend my life jaded
            Em
Waiting to wake up one day and find
        C D
That I let all these years go by
  G
Wasted
   G
Oh I don't wanna' keep on wishing, missing
     Em
The still of the morning the color of the night
           C D
I ain't spending no more time
  G Am
Wasted

G/B C
She kept drivin' along
G/B Am
Till the moon and the sun were floating side-by-side
     C G/B
He looked in the mirror and his eyes were clear
 F Em
For the first time in a while
      G
Hey, yeah,

Chorus:

    G
Oh, I don't wanna' spend my life jaded
            Em
Waiting to wake up one day and find
        C D
That I let all these years go by
  G
Wasted
   G
Oh I don't wanna' keep on wishing, missing
     Em
The still of the morning the color of the night
           C D
I ain't spending no more time
  G

are some of the words wrong??
-Willms18 | 12/13/2005
which words? I did see whiskey was spelled without the e and corrected it.
-rebelracer212 | 12/13/2005
like on the verse i think its for one split second she almost turned around> i could be wrong though. just a few spots dont really make sense.
-Willms18 | 12/14/2005
Yeah your right. I just got these lyrics from another source and there were actually lots of little things wrong that I just corrected. I was too caught up in getting the chords and overlooked all of that stuff. Thanks for seeing it.

I submitted the chords for this song before the official site was up and there were no official lyrics then.
