Chris Stapleton
Written By Chris Stapleton, Barry Bales and Ronnie Bowman
CD: Traveller (2015)
Tabbed By Larry Mofle
5/23/15
Capo 2
Drop D tuning
D
She took down the photograph of our wedding day
D
Ripped it down the middle and threw my half away
G D
And I got nobody to blame but me
G D
I got nobody to blame but me
She broke all my fishing rods, put my guns in hock
Threw my clothes out in the yard and changed out all the locks
And I got nobody to blame but me
I got nobody to blame but me
Chorus:
D
I know right where I went wrong
G D
I know just what got her gone
D G
Turned my life into this country song
G D
And I got nobody to blame but me
G D
I got nobody to blame but me
She fired up my old hot rod, ran it in the pond
Put sugar in my John Deere, I can't even mow my lawn
And I got nobody to blame but me
I got nobody to blame but me
She built her a bonfire With my old six string
Took all my good whiskey and poured it down the drain
And I got nobody to blame but me
I got nobody to blame but me
Chorus

Should probably watch the video on you tube -tclawson | 9/18/2015 | Better? I was in the same key before with E and A without the Capo - the Drop D adds the nuance... -lmofle | 9/19/2015 | Good job. I also used E and A, but still in drop D (Hammer on the open D with your thumb, sounds pretty cool, gets that "bounce"). I do like the capo version too, gets that higher voicing. -r.a.crump2@gmail.com | 1/27/2016 | Not everyone is at your level of playing. Why don't you chord out the entire song? -KennyA | 6/13/2017 | Kenny - because you would not learn. You would just follow - what I try to do is give everyone the chords in the 1st verse, the chorus and/or, the bridge. This "forces" you to listen closely on the other verses and because the chord progression is the same, follow the pattern. This then allows you to get a better ear so that as you progress, you get to a point of being able to hear chord changes on your own. That being said - the tab itself is not a one and I think you and I both know that...

-lmofle | 6/13/2017 | Let me also add that the alternative is to potentially not have a tab of a song you like. I work off the request list as well as new CD's of artists that I like that come out. It sort of seems like looking a gift horse in the mouth. You can have an accurate tab or one not at all/completely wrong... -lmofle | 6/13/2017 |
