He took the picture from the wall, he handed it to me and he swore.
G A Bm G A Bm *
He said "Now, I've done nothing wrong. I was framed all along.
G A Bm G A Bm
Now they lied right from the start when they stole my lonely heart.
G A Bm G A Bm *
In the picture that you hold lies the hidden truth untold.
D G A D G
And I was just along for the ride. Where that train was bound I don't
A D Dmaj7/C# Bm G A D Dmaj7/C# Bm
Know but I'll ri---de. I just wanted to go farther than I'd been...
G A Bm *2x
Now I'm along for the ride again.
Bm G A Bm G A Bm
It was a long, cold rainy day. They kept their smiles at bay.
G A Bm G A Bm *
Oh, but to them it was just a game to play with my life this way.
Bm G A Bm G A Bm
When the first man drew his gun, silence befell everyone. Oh, but
G A Bm G A Bm *2x
A girl she ran for the door and he gunned her down to the floor.
Bm G A Bm G A Bm
Now, we grabbed the loot and we rode for the posse would soon be formed.
G A Bm G A Bm *
Oh, but the girl she laid so cold...as pale as the untouched snow.
Now we'd ride through rain and snow, not knowing just which way to go.
G A Bm G A Bm *
Oh, but this would be my last ride. I'd take my leave tonight.
Bm G A Bm G A Bm
And the day before we were found, in a picture we all gathered round.
G A Bm G A Bm * 3x
Four men in a line, I was the only one that was blind.
Bm G A Bm G A Bm
Oh, and now I sit in this cell. I'm awaiting my day in hell.
G A Bm G A Bm *
So, boy you listen good, there ain't no refuge in the hood.
Bm G A Bm G A Bm
Oh, and there's nobody to blame. I'm a fool of my own acclaim.
G A Bm G A Bm *
Yeah, I thought I'd been so wise but these men proved my demise.
Bm G A Bm G A Bm
And the train rolls down the line for a different town each night.
G A Bm G A Bm *
Oh, in search of a boy like me. In search of a youth in need.
D G A D G
And I was just along for the ride. Where that train was bound I don't
A D Dmaj7/C# Bm G A D Dmaj7/C# Bm
Know but I'll ri---de. I just wanted to go farther than I'd been...
G A Bm *4x
Now I'm along for the ride again.
enjoy :)

This song can also be played on capo 3 with Am, C, G, Am for the verses. and C, F, G for the chorus, but with your pinky down on the high e string for the three chords (but just for the chorus). Also the little lick he plays before and after the verses is on the b string out of an Am chord and it goes like this: 3p1 1 0h1 1 3p1 1 0h1 (p is a pull off and h is a hammer on) then you play at C and a G. I hope this make sense. -SteveAbney | 10/30/2002 | Steve is right, i saw cory at the sons of hermann hall with ray wylie and i asked him and saw him my damn self and thats exactly how he plays it...capo 3, Am, F, G and the chorus is C, F, G...and the the lick steve has down is right as well... -Gville-CH | 1/19/2003 | i saw cory and ray wylie in gruene and cory played it with this way. i guess its whatever floats your boat...wonderful song though
-Baumann | 2/15/2003 | Using the the capo'd 3rd method, I think cory plays an Am/F (Am add F) in the progression instead of just F. So its [Am][Am/F][G] for the verse. -geology | 8/20/2003 | what duz tha stars by tha end of tha rows mean? -omgalice22 | 7/14/2004 | It means you play Bm G A Bm If you'll notice, there is a place at the top of the tab that says "* = Bm G A Bm" -mammy | 7/14/2004 | cory invited me on his bus and played it for me and 4 other people..at that time he played it with the capo on the 3rd fret..it was amaaazing -dmarch2 | 12/14/2004 | Quick question...how do you make a Am/F? Could somebody out there tab it out for me, thanks a bunch
