Bm A G D Bm

Bm A G D
They said, "We don't take your kind. No, we don't want no guys like you."
Bm A G D
I lied my way until December, hoping Christmas would pull me through.
Em A D D/C# Bm
Then I hung around thinking religion would take its toll.
Em A D D/C# Bm
The Lord threw no signs that day. It seemed that no one would take me at all.
 G A Bm
Then I saw the light on the stage...

             Bm D A Bm
And I said, "Sing with me, oh, sing with me. Sing all night long.
                           D A Bm D A Bm
And hold me close til the mornin' sun comes searchin' for the dawn."

Bm A G D
I hitched my way back to Houston where I knew that I'd find a home.
Bm A G D
My mother claimed 'no vancany' in this new house that I'd never known.
Em A D D/C# Bm
I found myself astray, all alone, caught up in the midst of my pain.
Em D D/C# Bm
In the howling winds of the night, I swore someone was calling my name.
 G A Bm
I turned just to see the light on the stage...

             Bm D A Bm
And I said, "Sing with me, oh, sing with me. Sing all night long.
                           D A Bm D A Bm
Then hold me close til the mornin' sun comes searchin' for the dawn."

Bm A G D
I took my last doller, made some change and I called a friend.
Bm A G D
He said, "That's no problem, pal. You know we've love to take you in."
Em A D D/C# Bm
So he helped me through my trial, with some peace from the Lord above.
Em A D D/C# Bm
Next thing I know I'm on the stage doing everything that I've dreamed of.
 G A Bm
Now it seems that I am the light on the stage...
 G A Bm
Now it seems that we are the lights on the stage.

             Bm D A Bm
And I said, "Sing with me, oh, sing with me. Sing all night long.
                           D A Bm D A Bm
Then hold me close til the mornin' sun comes searchin' for the dawn."
             Bm D A Bm
And I said, "Sing with me, oh, sing with me. Sing all night long.
                           D A Bm D A Bm
Then hold me close til the mornin' sun comes searchin' for the dawn."

mammy, you did good with this tab but there is a small mistake.
where the chords are listed above...Bm can be 224432 or xx44321.
Also, try C#m instead of Bm and it will sound closer to the song.

You're right about the fingering for Bm...
that'll teach you not to tab out a song on
the computer when you're half asleep! I've
corrected it and actually, the Bm IS a C#m...
both are played xx6544 but with the capo on
2, it makes it a Bm :)

Mammy,

i Saw cory play this a week back and he didnt play it like this.
still this way does sound good....
-Baumann | 3/25/2003
I think that he probably plays it capoed on
the 4th and in the Am position. (I actually
played it that way the other night and it
sounded better because you can strum all 6
strings without having to play a Bm barre chord)
But it's still all the same :)

This song can be played with a capo on the 4th fret. The Bm is played as an Am, the A is a G,The G is an F, and the D is C. Em is played as a Dm.This sound just as good as if you were to capo the third Fret. Try it out.

I didn't know you had done this one!! We have a lot of common favorites! I was sad that you didn't mention The Bleu Edmondson Band. They fit with the crowd you mentioned real well!

good tab except one thing, on the lyrics part, its "Walkin with my feet ten feet off the field"
