Intro: G, G, G, Cadd9
            G
I left that sun sinkin' west in California
      Cadd9
I was supposed to stay in LA a few more weeks
        Em
But the next time that old sun and I meet up
                         G Cadd9
I'll be a thousand miles east

      G
Fifty dollars and a gas card in my pocket
         Cadd9
That I'm thinkin' might already be maxed out
            Em
That's just one of those little crazy things
                              G
I really didn't stop to think about

Chorus:
             Em C G D
Cause when a man wants to be with a woman
            Em C G D
There ain't no way of gettin' there too fast
         Em C
When you know who you wanna spend
G D
The rest of your life with
          Am
You wanna start
                 C
The rest of your life
            G Cadd9
Soon as you can

           G
That state trooper let me off with just a warning
      Cadd9
And a promise that I'd try to slow her down
         Em
Man that promise was forgotten
                                        G
By the time I'd gotten two miles out of town

Chorus:
             Em C G D
Cause when a man wants to be with a woman
            Em C G D
There ain't no way of gettin' there too fast
         Em C
When you know who you wanna spend
G D
The rest of your life with
          Am
You wanna start
                 C
The rest of your life
            G Cadd9
Soon as you can

Bridge:
D Cadd9
Don't know how much a truck can handle
D Cadd9(pause)
But the closer that I get
       Cadd9
I keep pushin' it

Instrumental:

Chorus:
             Em C G D
Cause when a man wants to be with a woman
            Em C G D
There ain't no way of gettin' there too fast
         Em C
When you know who you wanna spend
G D
The rest of your life with
          Am
You wanna start
                 C
The rest of your life
                  Am
You can't wait to start
                 C
The rest of your life
            G Cadd9
Soon as you can
            G Cadd9
Soon as you can
            G Cadd9
Soon as you can
G Cadd9 G Cadd9 G Cadd9 (fade out)

Thanks so much for posting. It sounds great. I've been trying to figure out that instrumental for a while. Keep up the good work!

Sounds pretty good, the only thing i hear thats a little off is the entire first line of the verses should be played in G (i play it in Gadd9 with hammer ons) then the entire second line of the verses played in Cadd9. Should be like this:

Gadd9
I left that sun sinkin' West in California
Cadd9
But I was supposed to stay in LA a few more weeks

Gadd9
E-3
B-0
G-0 (hammer ons on the 2nd and 4th fret sound really nice)
D-0
A-0
E-3

Other than that, great job
