Intro: [G] [C] [D] [C] [D] [G]
[G] [C]
A woman in the Bible days, her last meal almost gone
[D] [C] [D] [G]
But God sent Elijah to make His Word known
[G] [C]
He said woman don't you worry for God sent me today
[D] [C] [D] [G]
And before you even asked Him, help was on the way
Chorus:
[G] [C]
Just hold on a little longer help is on the way
[D] [C] [D] [G]
A brighter day is coming for those who believe and pray
[G] [C]
Help won't help tomorrow if you give up today
[D] [C] [D] [G]
Just hold on a little longer, help is on the way
(Instrumental Break - same as intro)
Troubles of this life come by and burdens get you down
You think no one is listening, you think no ones around
Just remember what His word says, trust Him and obey
Keep your eyes toward the heavens cause help is on the way
(Chorus)
Help won't help tomorrow if you give up today
Just hold on a little longer, help is on the way
Outro ending: [D] [C] [D] [G]

Changed the chords, and corrected a few words. Added the video and also a link to the mp3 from the Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver website. Don't know how to delete the mp3 submitted with the chords though - any help? -coffeesucker | 9/15/2009 | This is much better tab; and the video is just great. I was trying to approach what I heard on the cd with E tuned banjo, capo 4 made key of A sound ok to me. But I missed a couple of chords on the 2nd and fourth lines. I am not sure how to remove the "listen" mp3; but I would if I could. Thanks for the helpful corrections...I am pretty new at "chord-tabbing"
Verne -bluerabbit10 | 9/16/2009 | Hey Verne! Man, I love this tune - it's a perfect "old timey" gospel song and nobody does 'em any better than DL&Q. Thanks for submitting it and no worries about the corrections - it took me a year or two to get that feel for chords and keys. Just keep listening and playing and it will all fall into place. - Gary - -coffeesucker | 9/16/2009 | Thanks, Gary. I agree they are a good bunch. Verne -bluerabbit10 | 9/16/2009 |
