When It Rains
Eli Young Band
Tabbed by Andrew Magness
magness at gmail.com
Am C G Em
Give me skies of black and blue, the way you make me feel
Am C G Em
Give me skies of green and red, cold winds that make it real
Am C G Em
Storms are brewing deep within of hurt and loss and pride
Am C G Em
Its good to see the world in pain when I take a walk outside
CHORUS
Dm F7 C G
When it rains, I don't mind being loney I cry right along with the sky
Dm F7 C G
When it rains, I don't pretend to be happy, I don't even have to try
Dm F7
When it rains, some people get down,
C G
They're sporting a frown, so I fit right in
Am C G Em
Yeah, the sun might brighten your day but if I had my way, I'd take the rain
I don't care about politics or the hypocrites on my TV
I'm not mad at the girl who left because she couldn't be with me
So make up your theories about the scandals and the lies
Start out depressed then everything comes as a pleasant suprise
CHORUS x2
----------------------
This sounds pretty close to me. If anyone has any input it's appreciated.

I'm not real sure what an F7 is but an F sounds just as good to me in the chorus. But good job anyway this is an awesome up and coming texas country band. -rblair23 | 9/6/2005 | F7's and F's are interchangable for the most part. I put F7 just cause it eases the transition from Dm to C instead of doing a full blown F. -rab05 | 9/6/2005 | Hey great job on the tab. Eli Young Band is amazing if you can tab out any more of their songs i would be forever happy. They are so much fun to see in concert I just can never figure songs out on my own! -livintexas | 11/21/2005 | after the Em in the verses, u can put a Em7 before the Am then open the fifth string into the Am to make it sound like the album. -tyler1221 | 1/18/2006 | Hey i can't figure out the chords that are between the Em and Am. Can anyone shoot me an idea on those. Thanks -Hambone282 | 5/27/2008 | Is there an easier way to play the F7?
-Alrednck | 8/7/2008 | between Em and Am do bar chords in this order...5th fret, 9th fret, 9th fret, 7th fret,5th fret, Em, 5th fret, 9th fret, 7th fret. Bar your bar your 3rd, fourth, and 5th strings for the best results. -code-man08 | 8/21/2008 | Love this tune!!! Did another band record this song, before Eli Young Band? -WildCard76 | 11/8/2008 | play a F and remove your pinky and it sounds "almost" the same as a F7 but you should probably learn how to play it right -pilagrande3 | 7/6/2009 | WildCard76-In response to your pondering about whether or not another band has done this song, oddly enough the progression in the verse is the same as the verse in Metallica's "Fade To Black". They even put in the little chord melody between the Em transition to the Am! Check it out sometime. -joedwright | 10/21/2009 |
