A HEARTACHE FOR A KEEPSAKE
Recorded by Faron Written by Roger Miller
===========================================

C
A heartache for a keepsake
       F
What a tragic souvenir
G7
Now I know how it feels
                           C
When peoples dreams all disappear

I'm looking out my window
         F
Watching her just walk away
  G7
A heartache for a keepsake
                    C
It became mine just today

  G7
A picture fades with time
           C
But will a heartache do the same
D7
Years from now will I still
        G7
Wake up nights and call her name

      C
Oh it hurts to love somebody
       F
And to see her walk away
  G7
A heartache for a keepsake
                    C
It became mine just today

  G7
A picture fades with time
           C
But will a heartache do the same
D7
Years from now will I still
        G7
Wake up nights and call her name

      C
Oh it hurts to love somebody
       F
And to see her walk away
  G7
A heartache for a keepsake
                    C
It became mine just today

SONG HISTORY & INFORMATION

Faron recorded hundreds of songs during his fabulous career. Although he was small
in stature, his voice was incredibly strong. Faron could sing any type whether it
be ballads, novelty or beautiful love songs. Like most artists, many of his best
songs were never released as singles and received little or no radio play.

He was among the top country stars and was one of the most colourful personalities
all though the 1950's until the late 1970's. We all remember his classic hits "If
You ain't Lovin then You Ain't Livin" and "Live Fast, Love Hard, Die Young"
marking him a true honky-tonk man in sound and style. Of course we will never
forget how his versatility as a vocalist really came out in songs like "Hello
Walls" and Four In the Morning".
