Texas - George Strait

**CAPO 3**

Intro: G D/F# Em D (x2)

      G D/F# Em D
There wouldn't be no alamo
     G D/F# Em D
No cowboys in the superbowl
    G D/F# Em Bm
No lonesome dove, No yellow rose
                  D
If it wasn't for Texas

G D/F# Em D

   G D/F# Em D
I wouldn't be a Willie fan
   G D/F# Em D
Nobody'd swim the Rio Grand
   G D/F# Em Bm
I wouldn't be an American
                   D
If it weren't for Texas

Chorus:
      A G D
Fort Worth would've never cross my mind
        A G D
There'd be no Austin City Limit sign
   G D/F# A
No Lonestar Of Etiquan
                  D
If it wasn't for Texas

(repeat intro chords)

     G D/F# Em D
I'd never gone to Tennessee
    G D/F# Em D
To sing my songs and chase my dreams
      G D/F# Em Bm
Only heaven knows just where I'd be
                  D
If it wasn't for Texas

CHORUS

G D/F# Em D

G D/F# Em D
It made me the man I am
       G D/F# Em D
Thank God for my old stomping ground
              G D/F# Em Bm
I wouldnt be standing right here right now
                  D Bm
If it wasn't for Texas, if it wasn't for Texas
                  G
If it wasn't for Texas

what is etiquan, "any kind" is correct, this song is all over the net with this word
-jswags04 | 1/20/2006
I got these lyrics off the net, I thought Etiquan was some Texas thing I didn't know about. Does anyone have the official CD cover with lyrics in it? Obviously what's on the net isn't always right.
