ok, this is for "Break in the Storm", by The Great Divide. Axehappy's tab works well, but
i saw Mike McClure do this song the other night without a capo, so i had to post the version
he did in Helotes, Texas the other night. It's in standard tuning, and he plays a beautiful
Fender Strat, so for those of you out there that are obsessed with matching tone exactly, buy
me a strat too.
Intro: E C#m A B (follow this through the verses, use the cd for rhythm, cause i got none)
Verse-
Everything changes, baby
Ain't nothin in this whole wide world
Ever stays the same.
Your future plans were nothin but sunny days
And now you're standin out in the pourin rain
How could anyone pick up your heart
Just to watch it fall
That lighthouse that stood on the hill for you
Now don't shine no light at all.
Chorus: A B A B A E A B
I know he let you down
Failed to keep you safe and warm
When the cold wind blows,
And the rains come down
I wanna be your break in the storm.
Verse-
I know there's been darkness in your life
I wanna help you find the sun.
Cuz I've been there when the sun don't shine
Girl you ain't the only one
There aint nothin more natural than your old lover
Nothin can compare
When you're alone and the lightening's crashing
I wanna hold you when you're scared
Chorus
Outro- strum through verse chords, finish on E
that's it, the timing's on the cd. long live red dirt music!
