I Just Ain’t Been Able
By Hank Williams Jr.
D A D
I just ain’t been able to write no songs
G D
I guess I have been gone for too long
G F D
I hate to but I got to get back to getting’ stoned
D A D
But I just ain’t been able to write no songs
I just ain’t been able to sing no blues
Lords knows I sure oughta know just how to
Cause everybody’s gone now, Lord, ‘cept me and you
But I just ain’t been able to sing no blues
I just ain’t been able to keep no wife
But you know I tried hard a couple of times
They always said “Is it gonna be your music or me?”
And I just ain’t been able to agree
I just ain’t never made no superstar
But I’ll keep on playin’ this white guitar
I don’t know how long or how far
But I sure love to play these honky tonk bars
I hate to but I got to get back to getting’ stoned
And I just ain’t been able to write no songs

I play this song alot and found that the D chord is played on the seventh fret in certain parts of the song, such as the end of some of the verses. Also, replace the F chord with an A and the song will sound more like the original. Otherwise an excellent tab! -RLWGUITARGOD | 1/2/2005 |
