Me & Smitty
By Honeybrowne
Capo 4
D
It was me and Smitty in some beat up jeans
A
Two crazy ass kids like no one’d ever seen
Bm G
We were riding our bikes to the Stop-n-Go
A
For a can of snuff and some dirty magazines
We grew up fast in a one light town
Where it seems like the world was just a few miles round
We were buying beer at 17
With four bald tires and a fake ID
Chorus:
G Bm A G
And I said Hey there brother do you know how the story goes
G Bm A G
How'd we get so far so fast man it seems like no one knows
G Bm A G
Hey there brother heaven knows how long it's been
G Bm A G
Still nothin’s changed ‘round this old town You were always my best friend
Well I remember one night they threw Smitty in jail
Used my dad's credit card to pay his bail
Yea, Dad was cool and never said a thing
Smitty gave him 60 bucks and a pint of Jim Beam
Well, the very next night we were ridin’ round
Drivin’ like hell through that one light town
Yeah, that Jim Beam sure didn't last us long
But with these things the way they were we couldn't go wrong
Chorus

all of the chords on this are wrong. i will send in a version thats right when i get a chance. the guy who wrote this song can't even play a Bm. ha ha
-balestx1 | 2/10/2003 | yeah he's right, fred doesn't play with a capo. this is completely wrong, nice try though -btexan03 | 2/10/2003 | I PM'd him, Btexan, but let me explain how figuring out a song works...you first need to know what key to play it in. The way to do this is finding the Bass note. For this song, I found it where I put the Capo. Now, if you play along with the song, you will hear that it does fit, whether or not Fred uses a capo or not. To play along with the song, this is correct. Now, back to what I was saying. If I capo 4 and play in the Key of D, like I did, that means, if I move the capo to 2, you can play the key of C chords, or if you go to Capo 1 and play the key of B, this also works. My point is that a capo allows you to change the chords you are playing if you don't like them.
-lmofle | 2/10/2003 | i understand how to figure out a song, but all i was saying is that i've never seen him play it with a capo. i also know how to move chords down with a capo, ex. B is the same as A with a capo on 2. C is the same as a A with a capo on 3. i get it, but thanks
