Jason Aldean - Asphalt Cowboy

     ****capo 2nd fret***

Intro - A - F#m = 2x's

(verse 1)
A
Sun has opened up my eyes,
                                E
and I don't want to leave your side,
                   D A
For that lonesome road, but here I go,

Climbing back behind the wheel,
                              E
of 50 ft of chrome and steel inload,
                 D
they need in Chicago,

(pre-cho)
F#m-E-D
Through the middle of the night unknown,
F#m-E-D E
On a ride that won't let me go,

(chorus)
        A E F#m
I'm an asphalt, Cowboy, born to run underneath the stars,
D
pay no mind to my lonely heart,
        A E F#m (A) D
I just ride, ride, till I'm back in your arms again,
F#m E D - A
I'll be out here on the wind,

(Verse 2)
Sometimes late at night,
I see your picture by the dashboard light,
and it takes me, where I'd like to be,
wrapped up in a blanket there,
pullin ribbons from your hair,
and your kiss, girl that's what I miss,

(pre-cho)
Still I drive these horses through the rain and snow,
This high speed rodeo is all I know,

(chorus)
        A E F#m
I'm an asphalt, Cowboy, born to run underneath the stars,
D
pay no mind to my lonely heart,
        A E F#m (A) D
I just ride, ride, till I'm back in your arms again,
F#m E D
I'll be out here on the wind,
          A - E
And I'll ride,
F#m (A) D
till I'm back in your arms again,
F#m E D
I'll be out here on the wind,
          A - E
And I'll ride,
F#m
Through the middle of the night unknown,
D A
On a ride that won't let me go,

Outro - A - E - F#m - D

Hey, once again great job. I noticed a couple lyric things though, all in the first verse. I think its "leave your SIDE" "and a load" and "They need in Chicago" thanks, Tess

Doesn't Blake Shelton do this song too?

I just got to see Jason live in Butte, MT last night and he did this song acoustic. It was awesome! he is going to be huge!

i think this is a really good tab, but if you watch any live video of jason playin this, the capo is on 4 and the chord progression is different. seems no one has this version yet

I'm just not hearing it in this one. If you watch jason do it live and acousticly he plays it with the capo on the 3rd fret not the 2nd or the 4th. Other than that, i like the other stuff you've done! Hopefully someone will show us the version of it on the 3rd fret!

Good Job guys but the song is really played capo on the 4th fret thats how i play it, i will try to post it soon but you take the chords your playing in this version and convert them into capo 4th and they turn into G,D,C, then on that change during the song right before the chorus its an Em,D,C thrown in there, just listen and you'll figure it out, ive seen him play it live this way too
