D F#m7 Bbm7 D/A
INTRO

  D F#m7 Bbm7 D/A
I knew a man, Bojangles, and he danced for you
G G/F# A (*)
 In worn out shoes.
     D F#m7 Bbm7 D/A
With silver hair, a ragged shirt and baggy pants,
G G/F# A
 The old soft shoe.
G D/A F#+ Bbm Bbm7
He jumped so high, jumped so high,
E Asus A
 Then he'd lightly touch down.

Bbm A
   Mr. Bojangles,
Bbm A
   Mr. Bojangles,
Bbm A A7
   Mr. Bojangles,
D (*)
Dance.

  D F#m7 Bbm7 D/A
I met him in a cell in New Orleans, I was
G G/F# A (*)
    Down and out.
   D F#m7 Bbm7 D/A
He looked to me to be the eyes of age
G G/F# A
 As he spoke right out.
G D/A F#+ Bbm Bbm7
He talked of life, he talked of life.
E Asus A
He laughed, slapped his leg instead.

   D F#m7 Bbm7 D/A
He said his name, Bojangles, and he danced a lick
G G/F# A (*)
  Across the cell.
   D F#m7 Bbm7 D/A
He grabbed his pants, a better stance, oh, he jumped so high,
G G/F# A
  He clicked his heels.
G D/A F#+ Bbm Bbm7
He let go a laugh, let go a laugh,
E Asus A
Shook back his clothes all around.

Bbm A
   Mr. Bojangles,
Bbm A
   Mr. Bojangles,
Bbm A A7
   Mr. Bojangles,
D (*)
Dance.

   D F#m7 Bbm7 D/A
He danced for those in minstrel shows and county fairs
G G/F# A (*)
   Throughout the South.
   D F#m7 Bbm7 D/A
He spoke with tears of fifteen years how his dog and him
G G/F# A
    Traveled about.
G D/A F#+ Bbm Bbm7
His dog up and died, up and died,
E Asus A
After twenty years he still grieves.

   D F#m7 Bbm7 D/A
He said I dance now at every chance in honky tonks
G G/F# A (*)
 For drinks and tips,
    D F#m7 Bbm7 D/A
But most the time I spend behind these county bars.
G G/F# A
 'Cause I drinks a bit.
G D F#+ Bbm Bbm7
He shook his head, and as he shook his head,
E Asus A
I heard someone ask him, please,

Bbm A
   Mr. Bojangles,
Bbm A
   Mr. Bojangles,
Bbm A
   Mr. Bojangles,
D
Dance.

I think the song sounds much better played this way compared to the other listings. The F#+ (cord) was a little tough at first, I don't use it much, but have gotten use to it. Sounds Great

But if you're adding a 1 to each number, if
you put a capo on 1 and the frets would be
relative to the capo, it's the same thing...

that's a Bm and Bm7 not the flat...
