If Nobody Believed In You - Joe Nichols

**Capo 4th fret**

Intro: D G A/C# G

D G
I watched him take the two strike call
A/C# D
He hadn't tried to swing at all
G A/C#
I guess he had all he could take
G
He walked away for goodness sake
Em7 A
His father's voice was loud and mean
Em7 A
You won't amount to anything

Chorus 1:
G D
That little boy quit trying
G D
He just walked away
G A
There were teardrops on his face
G D
Tell me how would you feel
       G Bm
You'd probably give up too
   Em7 D/F# G A D G A/C# G
If nobody believed in you

D G
That old man said one more try
A/C# D
I know I'm not too old to drive
G A/C#
I promise son I'll do my best
G
This time I'm gonna pass the test
Em7 A
Give me the keys dad and get in
Em7 A
His father never drove again

Chorus 2:
That old man quit trying
He just turned away
There were teardrops on his face
Tell me how would you feel
You'd probably give up too
If nobody believed in you

E A
We take His name out of the schools
B/D# E
And lawyers say it breaks the rules
A B/D#
The pledge of allegiance can't be read
A
And "under God" should not be said
F#m7 B
I wonder how much He will take
F#m7 B
I just pray it's not too late

Chorus 3:
A E
What if God quit trying
A E
He just turned away
A B
There were teardrops on His face
A E
Tell me how would you feel
       A C#m
You'd probably give up too
   F#m7 E/G# A B E A B/D# A
If nobody believed in you

A E
Tell me how would you feel
       A C#m
You'd probably give up too
   F#m7 E/G# A B E A B/D# A E
If nobody believed in you

I finally heard this, thanks to Palamin0.
What an incredible song!!! It's enough to
make your heart break into pieces. I hate
to beat a dead horse, but THIS is the kind
of song that has been missing from country
radio. I praise Joe for having the courage
to release another real country song.

in the verses and what not the G and the A/C# should be D/C# and G7M. to play these just stay in D and they are fingered like this....

D/C# G7M(D/B)
e-2---------2------
b-3---------3------
g-2---------0------
d-4---------2------
a------------------------
e-------------------------

What you are calling a D/C# is
a D/F#.

D/C# = x4x232
D/F# = xx4232
