Fools Hall of Fame
Writers: J. Freeman-D.Wolfe

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Johnny Cash recorded this song twice (that I know of) during his career. He
recorded it for Sun Records in the mid 50's with a 12-bar-blues-like rhythm and
then he re-recorded it for Columbia in 1958 with an extra verse & more up-beat
4/4 timing but it was not released until 2002 as a "bonus track" on "The
Fabulous Johnny Cash" CD. I will post both versions, the Sun recording first,
then the Columbia recording.

C F
Well if I live to be a hundred
C C7
I know I can't forget the day
C7 F
That I broke the heart you gave me
F G C
And let you walk away
C G C
That's when they hung my name in The Fool's Hall of Fame

CHORUS
C F
Oh baby since we've been apart I can't console my heart
F C C7
It cries the whole night long
C7 F
Can I ever make you see the change you've made in me
F G
Oh honey let me tell you I was wrong
G C
Oh baby say that you'll forgive me
C C7
And let me end this misery
C7 F
Cause you know I'll keep on cryin'
F G C
Til' you come back to me
C G C
Don't leave me hear in shame in The Fool's Hall of Fame
