Don't you think that we could play a (G) at this time: "for a long, long (G) while".
It sounds better like this...

If you were to keep playing rhythm at "for a long long while" the chord would be a G, but on the recording, the music pauses here except for the drums. I guess if you were playing guitar by yourself with no other instruments it would sound better.

I enjoy doing this and folks like you that will comment and suggest and request make it even more enjoyable. It kinda reassures me that I am not typing it up for no reason and that someone is benefiting from it. Thanks for looking!!!
