Ridin' My Thumb to Mexico
By Johnny Rodriguez
Capo 1
C
This old highway seems so lonesome
Em
When you're goin’ where you've been
F
And a lonesome song can make you cry
G
Time and time again
C
If I'd listened to a friend of mine
Am
Ten years ago today
F
I'd have a better job
G
Than what I've got today
C
But the billboards on the highway
Em
And the brake lights on the cars
F
Make me jump out on the highway
G
With my bag and my guitar
C
If she comes or if she goes
Am
It doesn't matter anymore
F G C
Cause I'm ridin' my thumb to Mexico
Chorus:
F G C C/B Am
Ridin' my thumb to Mexico—o--o
F G C
It don't matter when or how I go
F G C C/B Am
I'm ridin' my thumb til I see her again
F G C
I'm ridin my thumb to Mexico
The reason why she left me's
Not the reason that I'm here
I'm a travlin' kind of man
Just need a change of atmosphere
If there's any place I haven't been
At all that's where I'll go
So I'm ridin' my thumb to Mexico
Chorus

lmofle........... you have a great talent. I look for you name when checking out these tabs, you are great.
I would like to suggest where C/B is to use E7. A bit more twang, and sounds great.
Thanks for all the great tabs you put out there. -AceCrawford | 12/4/2005 | One more, instead of G try G7. -AceCrawford | 12/4/2005 | On the C vs. C/B, it's a walkdown from C to Am - the natural progression is to go from C to C/B to Am.
As far as G7 vs, G, that is a personal preference. In the V spot, that is normally a 7th but it's up to the individual!
Thanks for checking out my tabs! -lmofle | 12/4/2005 |
