CAPO 4:
Tabbed By: Emrldeyzs
PIANO INTRO: F#m E D F#m E G
INTRO: F#m E D 2x
VERSE 1:
A D
I found a book that my mama kept
A D
Filled with secrets she hid
A E F#m E D E
And in a dusty old attic, one mornin' I read
A D
About a woman I never met
F#m E D
Who had dreams just like mine
E D E
With every page I turned, the words came alive
CHORUS:
A D
Wish I could roll out of town like a runaway train
F#m E D
I'll do as I dare, let them call me insane
A E F#m A D E
I'll never sit on the sidelines of life, I'll dance every dance
F#m E D F#m E D
If I just had the chance
VERSE 2:
A D
A tear fell on that faded page
A D
Cause this was somebody else
A E F#m A D E
Not the Mama I knew who never thought of herself
A D
But the times, they were different then
F#m E D
And lines just didn't get crossed
A D E
And these words that she wrote, they somehow got lost
CHORUS:
A D
Wish I could roll out of town like a runaway train
F#m E D
I'll do as I dare, let them call me insane
A E F#m A D E
I'll never sit on the sidelines of life, I'll dance every dance
F#m E D F#m E D G D C E
If I just had the chance
VERSE 3:
A D
The chance that she never had
A D
Is now the gift that is mine
A E F#m A D E
And out here on this road, I'm makin' up for lost time
A D
Yeah, I am my mother's child
F#m E D
And tonight in this car
A D E
I got her words in my suitcase and her dreams in my heart
CHORUS:
A D
As I roll out of town like a runaway train
F#m E D
I'll do as I dare, let them call me insane
A E F#m A D E
I'll never sit on the sidelines of life, I'll dance every dance
F#m E D
While I still have the chance
A E F#m A D E
I'll never sit on the sidelines of life, I'll dance every dance
F#m E D
While I still have the chance

sorry dude but i think that sounds kinda crappy... it just sounds like another guitar playing when i play with it. its too high. i think you should tune it down a step and play the way i had it posted -nickrad | 8/26/2004 | Two things here. I am a female so I can sing it in this key. The other is I don't have to tune it down.
You can play it Tuned down or without tuning it down Capo'd on 2 or Capo 4. Take your pick
-EMRLDEYZS | 8/27/2004 | sorry bout the dude thing. i looked at ur profile and noticed that (ur a pretty HOT female too). so ya... play it that way and me and u should jam some time;) -nickrad | 8/27/2004 | Riiiiiiiiiight. Let me know how you make out with that, nick. LOL -melsman | 9/1/2004 | bren!! this tab rocks! great job.....i'd give you a 10 if i was a premium member. -josielittle | 9/9/2004 | great job with this song -Carl Suiter | 12/3/2004 | ACTUALLY, if you wanna play along with the song on the CD, it's Capo 2nd fret and the A is C, D is F, F#m is Am, and E is G... that's how they play it on the CD. -eda_04 | 12/8/2004 | Just sitting here playing along with the cd and it seems to be the right key and sounds right with the recorded version. Good job! Not sure why others didn't think so. -Ronco1964 | 12/23/2004 | sounds to me like its capo 1st fret (not 2nd fret), then go with the C, F, Am, etc -BSKT | 1/16/2005 |
