Who You'd Be Today - Kenny Chesney

D variation in the intro goes like this:

E--5-5--5-3-2-------- (repeat)
B--3-3--3-3-3--------
G--2-2--2-2-2--------
D--0-0--0-0-0--------
A--------------------
E--------------------

Use this fingering for G9 --->  3x0233 or 3x0203

The chord generator is WRONG for that chord!

Intro: Dsus2 G9 (x2)

Dsus2
Sunny days seem to hurt the most

I wear the pain like a heavy coat
                        G9
I feel you everywhere I go
Dsus2
I see your smile, I see your face

I hear you laughing in the rain
                            G9
Still can't believe you're gone

Chorus:
G
It ain't fair you died too young

Like a story that had just begun
    Dsus2 G9
But death tore the pages all away
G
God knows how I miss you

All the hell that I've been through
     Dsus2 G9
Just knowing no one could take your place
G A
Sometimes I wonder who you'd be today

Dsus2 G9

Dsus2
Would you see the world, would you chase your dreams

Settle down with a family
                                   G9
I wonder what would you name your babies
Dsus2
Some days the sky's so blue

I feel like I can talk to you
                           G9
And I know it might sound crazy

CHORUS

   G9 Bm G D
Today, today, toda----y
   G9 Bm G D Dsus2 G9
Today, today, toda----y

Dsus2
Sunny days seem to hurt the most

I wear the pain like a heavy coat
                              G9
The only thing that gives me hope
      A Dsus2
Is I know, I'll see you again someday
     G9 Dsus2 G9 Dsus2
Someday, someda-----y

Chords:

Where can I hear this song?
-cenorris11 | 9/21/2005
I don't think the G9 fits at all.
-Jcope | 9/27/2005
LOVE IT! thanks for getting it out so quickly!
-Amazinggrace12 | 10/5/2005
Can anyone help me with the G9 and D9 chords? I can't find it in the "chord generator".
-peewee | 10/10/2005
I have a diagram of those chords in the tab. (look at the end)

btw the official names are D(add9) and G(add9) I just shorten them to make it easier to type out.

Thanks, I guess I could have been a little more observant.... Great tab and even greater song!!
-peewee | 10/10/2005
Thanks for Tabbin' this.
-slickbilly | 10/15/2005
Great tab! The only part that I think sounds better is if you play just E & B on the last 3 strums in the intro.
-wcbardwell | 10/18/2005
thanks for tabbing that out for us all. now im gonna play it at open mike and dedicate it to my friend nathan!
-sye | 10/19/2005
ive figured it out the d9 is wrong.....well sorta it is the d chord minus the e string
-glavine | 11/19/2005
I used to be one of those ignorant country haters but this song is freakin' great! Nice tab man!

-Camerino | 12/5/2005

-nlheathnl | 12/7/2005
PERFECT i love it awesome job awesome job!!!!
-marineforever | 12/16/2005
the g9 does not fit there i would play a g 5 which is low e(third fret) and high e (third fret) it fits better
-scarsoftomorrow | 1/6/2006
sorry but the G9 is not right.
-BStew | 2/8/2006
Regarding the G9....make sure you're playing it like on my diagram at the bottom of the tab...not the diagram that comes up on the chord generator. That chord diagram is WRONG and maybe that's why you're thinking it's sounding off (I don't even think that's a chord).
-Shantel | 2/9/2006
Great tab and nice job on the chords...If anyone wants to play the song through, note for note, pick out the intro chords. I'm sorry, but I don't know how to write tab onto the computer, but the entire song is based off the intro. If you listen closely, I'm sure you can pick it up unless someone wants to make a comment on how you add tab on here...lol! If you figure out how to pick out the intro chords, it sounds right on. Also, there is no G9 in this song, just replace it with a G if you're going to try and pick out the song.
-Tigheman5000 | 2/17/2006
that G9 really doesent seem to fit, other than that, not bad
