Kris Kristofferson--Me and Bobby McGee

The chords to this song aren't much different than the chords submitted by
others on this site, for other artists (and a lot of people have recorded
this song!). However, I have a few personal variations that I think give
the song more flavor, and instead of leaving messages, which would only
confuse people, I decided to tab it out.

The best way to play this song is with an acoustic guitar, in a dark room,
fingerpicking. If you can't do one or the other of the first two, I at least
reccommend the third. I use my thumb for the first two strings of the chord,
my first, second, and third fingers for the others. Simple, basic fingerpicking,
in a basically random pattern that sounds proffessional. I think I just found the
secret to playing guitar! (or I can continue to dream, at least)

Enjoy.

C
Busted flat in Baton Rouge and headin for the train
                          G
Feelin nearly faded as my jeans

Bobby thumbed a diesel down just before it rained
                           C
Took us all the way to New Orleans

I took my harpoon out of my dirty red bandana
                            C7 F
And I was blowin sad while Bobby sang the blues
                                                  C
With the windshield wipers slappin time and Bobby clappin hands we finally
G C C7
Sang up every song that driver knew
F C
Freedom's just another word for nothin left to lose
G C C7
Nothin ain't worth nothin but it's free
F C
Feelin good was easy Lord when Bobby sang the blues
G C
Feelin good was good enough for me, good enough for me and Bobby McGee

From the coal mines of Kentucky to the California sun
                                A
Bobby shared the secrets of my soul

Standin right beside me Lord through everything I done
                                  D D/E
Every night she kept me from the cold

D
Then somewhere near Salinas Lord I let her slip away
                                G
Lookin for the home I pray she finds
                                   D
I'd trade all my tomorrows for one single yesterday
A D D/E
Holdin Bobby's body close to mine
G D
Freedom's just another word for nothing left to lose

Nothin ain't worth nothin but it's free
G D

Throw in a random Dsus2 (xx0233) if you wish, especially with the la la la's.
