Nobodys Dash but Mine

(E) Ive been low-down in New(A) Orleans
Up to my neck on Bourbon and (E) Royal
But thats so long ago it(B) seems
Cause today I live on fertile (E) soil

(E) Fought forest fires on the (A) Kootenai
and dodged rattlers on the fire (E) line
Rafted logs on the old (B) Illinois
But today things are mighty (E) fine

(E) Did my service in Ft Benning and (A) Clarksville
Cruised timber on the Western (E) Slope
Tasted trout from Homestake (B) Creek
Saw the time when all I had was (E) hope.

(E) Braved the snows on Mummy and Rabbit Ears (A) Pass
Most of these things seemed tough at the (E) time
Now before long, Ill be on other side of the (B) grass
No way I would trade anybodys dash for (E) mine
