Black board, word cards, light so (D) dim

7th and 8th were in the (D) rear
Study and recite, so it (A) goes
Learn a little more each (D) year

(D) Phonics, to help us read and (A) spell
Writing and  arithmetic taught with (D) ease
World places learned so (A) well
Big windows looked out to hickory (D) trees

(D) Learned what life was (A) about
Still have many  mem-(D)ories
Just a one room school (A) house
In among the hickory (D) trees.
