If (D) you would like some quality..(E) time
The (A7) kind where you can really (D) think
Take hike to the place called (E) timberline
Where (A7) scenery will make you (D) blink

Twisted pine trees with shattered (E) bark
Busted (A7) limbs from ice shot from fierce (D) winds
Temperature extremes have left their (E) mark
Jagged (A7) rocks, there since time (D) began

This is (G) the line where (A7) time stands (D) still
Lush (G) quiet green on (A7) slopes  (D) below
Deathly silence that tests your (E) will
Above that (A7) line, its ice and (D) snow

You might see a hawk or a snow shoe or (E) two
Maybe a (A7) few snow drop flowers, and some purple (D) hue
Begin your muse, under sky so (E) blue
At (A7) timber line, not much else (D) to do.
