Time to un-hitch, my dad would always say,

He'd loosen a gallus on his Pay Day overalls

He'd dip the tin cup into the water pail
Take a long draw, and then hang it on the nail
Must have been hundred ten in the shade out there today
My mom, little brother and I, knew that's what he'd say

A fast scrub up and we'd all head to town

We'd take a five gallon can of fresh cream to Romer's Place
And get enough money for our groceries and the movie place
All the folks would visit at Frazer's Coffee Shop
We'd take in a 12 cent movie, it meant alot

Saturday night, our only trip to town, yes
Dad in his Pay Days' and Mom in her cotton dress
Us kids in the back seat of the Model A
Sun bleached hair and sun tanned that way
