Thanks to Marshall Rasnick. I copied his tabulature and edited it to reflect
how I tabbed it out and play it. Each ear is different and each have their own
style. I've only been playing and self-learning about 6 months, but this was
how I heard it. Hope you enjoy it.

+++ Capo 2nd fret +++

(Chorus):

D
I feel no shame
D
I'm proud of where I came from
      C G D
I was born and raised in the boondocks
D
One thing I know
D
No matter where I go
          C G D
I keep my heart and soul in the boondocks

(Verse)

          Am
And I can feel
     C D
That muddy water running through my veins
          Am C D
And I can hear that lullaby of a midnight train
   C G
It sings to me and it sounds familiar

(Repeat Chorus)

          Am
And I can taste
     C D
That honeysuckle and it's still so sweet
        Am
When it grows wild
C D
On the banks down at old camp creek
             C G
Yeah, and it calls to me like a warm wind blowing

(Repeat Chorus)

(Bridge)

G D
It's where I learned about living
G D
It's where I learned about love
G D
It's where I learned about working hard
    C G
And having a little was just enough
G D
It's where I learned about Jesus
G D
And knowing where I stand
G D C
You can take it or leave it, this is me
G D
This is who I am

(Solo) D - D - C - G - D

(Pre-chorus - I enjoy strumming the chords lightly through this even though the
song only has one or two strums per chord)

          Am
Give me a tin roof
  C D
A front porch and a gravel road
           C
And that's home to me
              G
It feels like home to me

(Repeat Chorus)

          C G D
I keep my heart and soul in the boondocks

** NC (1st time around) **

I will check each version and the most accurate
stays - we don't want multiple tabs if it can
be helped. Thanks for the submission.

good job!!!

here are a couple sugestions though...
In the verses when he says "boondocks"

in the Chorus should be:
(G/F#)Boon(D)docks

verses 1:
It (C)sings to me and it (G/B)sounds familiar

Verse 2:
Yeah, and it (C)calls to me like a (G/B)warm wind blowing

good Job!!
