Luke Bryan
Small Town Favorite

Intro E A x2

Verse 1
E
How do you turn a scholarship down,
A
Tear up a ticket, already punched,
E
And watch a dream die?
E
Who's gonna tell me how
A
To face Daddy
E
And watch Momma cry?
B
Have I thrown my future away?
A
Played my last football game?
B
It all seems so strange
A
That in just one night
            B
Your whole life can change.

Chorus
          A
Wish this old John Deere had wings
         E B
And this cotton row was an airstrip
A B(quick hit)
Way outta here.
A
Wish this high noon Georgia sun
      E B
Could melt what's been done
         A
Make it disappear.
           C#m B A
If I could leave, I'd be gone,
                A G#m F#m B
But that's just one more thing done wrong

By this small town favorite son.

Verse 2
E
By fall they're all gonna know
A
Our little secret
E
My baby holds inside.
E
By then she'll be startin' to show,
A
And I'll be the husband
E
To a shotgun bride.
B
I already miss that sound
A
The marching bands and the cheering crowds.
B
Stuck here in this red dirt ground
A B
Knowin' I, I let everybody down.

Outro
A
This high noon Georgia sun
      E B
Can't melt what's been done.
        A
Girl, I be right here
C#m B A
I don't know much about life
A G#m F#m B
But I know what's right
(NC)
For this small town favorite son.

Yeah, he's good with lyrics. One song of
his makes him sound like a biggot, though.
Freaker's Ball. He sounds sort of racist
in that song, which is a little odd, I find.
