You need to put the chords over the lyrics for a "chord"tab...

Nice tab, but there's something I don't get. Martina McBride covering a Johnny Cash song? I know everybody covers his work, it's a must do in order to be considered a musician . But Martina McBride? It sounds nothing at all like the original, when doing a Johnny Cash song, it's gotta be exactly the way he did it, especially the ones he wrote himself like this one. She totally ruined the song, it's not the same as his way. Good work, the chords are right and everything, but it's just not the same as his. -macg1 | 10/7/2005 |
There are lots of people who have covered this song. -EMRLDEYZS | 10/7/2005 |
Take the music past where you found it. Everyone and anyone can and should inject some of themselves into any song they cover. Consider the Old 97's raveup of Marty Robbin's "El Paso". It's an homage and an update at the same time. -draver8 | 10/7/2005 |
I must have missed that it has to be exactly the same in the rule book? Why would they even record it if it had to be exactly the same.
Dolly covered this song too. : ) -p8nter21 | 10/8/2005 |
Em this has always been one of my favorite songs and I love all versions...including Gram Parsons reved up version, Rodney Crowell and Nancy Griffith's duet :) -olivia_kay74 | 10/8/2005 |
To go along with the CD this needs to be played with a capo on the second fret. Or it'd be even easier to not use a capo and replace G with A, C with D, and D with E. Thanks for the chords though. -sumodano | 11/12/2005 |
