Farmer’s Blues Marty Stuart & Merle Haggard

Thanks RoC for tabbing out the lyrics and chords to this one.
Good job, pal. Mine’s a little different, as this came straight
from the Country Music album. Note the F#m.s. The outro is
similar to the intro. I’ll add it soon.

Key B. Acoustic guitar is played capoed at the 2nd fret. Electric
is played without a capo.

Intro: Acoustic Guitar (capo 2)

(A) Who'll buy my wheat, who'll buy my corn,
To feed my (D) babies when they’re (A) born?
The seeds and (A) dirt, a prayer for rain, that I can (E) use.

I work the (A) land, I watch the sky,
I talk to (D) God and wonder (A) why,
But it's the (F#m) only life I (E) know, these Farmer's (A) blues.

CHORUS
I see the (E) seasons come and go, sending (D) rain, fire and (A) snow.
I'm at the (A) mercy of it all, this life I (E) choose.
Sometimes I (A) hang my head and cry, when that (D) evening train goes (A) by,
Wish it could (F#m) take me far (E) away, these Farmer's (A) blues.

The tractors (A)1 old, the fence is down,
Put on my (D)2 suit and go to (A) town.
And ask for a (A) loan, that I know 3 well, they might re(E)fuse. 4

But back at (A) home, still 5 by my side,
The one I (D)6 love with worried (A) eyes,
Waits for (F#m)7 me, to love (E) away, these Farmer's (A) blues.

This is the lead elec. for Haggard’s verses. Listen to the CD for timing.
