Simple Girl
By Max Stalling
Capo 2
G C G
Simple girl, you're coffee in the morning
G D
Simple girl, you're iced tea at noon
G C G
Simple girl, you’re a porch swing in the evening
G D G
And a feather bed at night in our room
Simple girl your cork and bob are fishing
With a cane pole and a cold can beer
Simple girl, you're a blacktop farm to market
With the windows down and you whispering in my ear
Chorus:
C G
Simple girl, simple ways of life
D G
Simple highs and simple lows
C G
Simple girl, simply hold me close
D G
Simple wants, simple needs, simple dreams and simple hopes
Simple girl, are you out there listening
Simple girl do you exist
Simple girl I'll bet you're at the dime store
But every time I go to shop I forget my list
Chorus

I saw him play this last night, and he played it without a capo, starting on A, then to D, with an E. These are easily transposed, I know (A w/o capo becomes G, D w/o capo becomes C, and E w/o capo becomes D) but I saw on the A he was hammering on and off that C# on the B string, pretty much alternating between a standard A and an Asus2. Finger-picked it sounds pretty cool. Just something for folks to try to add a little something extra to it. -Murph316 | 1/26/2006 | beginner here- how do you figure out the appropriate strum pattern? -jake24s | 6/16/2016 |
