Caught Between The Devil and You
© Larry Mofle 2002

I wrote this yesterday after having to handle a situation with an ex of mine
and getting in trouble with my current girlfriend for having to deal with it!
may add another verse in it or change the first two lines as they seem a tad
corny...or I'll just leave it alone!

Chorus:
    D G D
I’m caught between the devil and a heartbreak
                                        A
Either way I turn, it’ll turn out I get burned
         D G D D/F# Bm
It won’t matter what I say or what I do--oo---oo
          D A D
Cause I’m caught between the devil and you

         D G D
You know life won’t always deal you a fair hand
                                                  A
No matter what it won’t work out just the way you planned
    D G D
And even though I’m told to look for rainbows
                              A D
I never find that pot of gold waiting under it

Chorus

Bridge:
    Bm D
The devil is the woman who left a scar on your heart
  Bm D A
A heartbreak is the woman you love falling all apart

Chorus

Yeah...not too keen on the first two lines of the verse Larry....
too much like Forrest Gump's "Life is like a box of chocolates"...Rest of its pretty good though!

Could be a third verse for Between the Devil and Me by Alan Jackson.

I'm not a prof. songwriter, only a prof. listener, but I liked the first two verses, they tied into the bridge nicely
