(1)
My back aches, but it's not from the saddle.
My hands are hurtin' like they never have before.
They're not hurtin' cause I 'been mendin' fences,
It's the Arthritis sittin' in I'm pretty sure.
(CHOROUS)
I'm still the same, except for bein' different.
Can't do the things I always did before.
I can still strum the strings on this old guitar.
But I can't do bends and pulls any more.
Yea I'm still the same except for bein' different,
And I don't get too much done any more.
(2)
My legs hurt but it's not from walking down a ditch line
And when I move my arms my elbows crack.
They don't hurt form me throwin hay bales,
I'm sure I got that old Rumtism back.
(3)(SPOKEN)
Well these eyes of mine can't see too good these days,
There aint to much in that damned old newspaper anyway.
And I didn't hear Grandma call me in for supper yesterday
But old Charley picks me up and we go down the tavern,
And I can still lift a bottle a beer and a smoke
So I guess I'm still the same in thataway.
