Farmer's Daughter
Written by Rhett Akins & Ben Hayslip
Recorded by Rodney Atkins

(Capo on 4)

Intro.: | (D) | (A) | (D) | (A)

Well, I (D)heard he needed some (G)help on the farm,
some-(A)body with a truck and (D)two strong arms
Not scared of dirt and (A)willin' to work,
till the (G)sun (F#m)goes (Em)down
So (D)I pulled up and said, "(G)I'm your man,
I could (A)start right now" and (D)we shook hands
He said, "The (D)fence needs fixin', the (A)peaches need pickin',
and the (G)cows need bringin' (D)'round"

(Chorus)
I was (D)haulin' hay, I was feedin' the hogs
And that (A)summer sun had me sweatin' like a dog
So I (Em)cooled off in the creek
Then it was (G)back to work in the (A)daggum heat
I was (D)cussin' out loud, thinkin' 'bout quitin'
(A)Lookin' back now I'm sure glad I didn't
'Cause (Em)just when I thought it couldn't (F#m)get no hotter
(G)I caught glimpse of the (A)farmer's daughter

Inst.: | (D) | (A)

She was (D)just gettin' home from (G)Panama city
She was (A)all tanned up and (D)my kinda pretty
When her eyes met mine, I was (A)thinkin'
that I would sure (G)love (F#m)my (Em)job
As the (D)days got shorter our (G)talks got longer
The (A)kisses got sweeter and the (D)feelin's got stronger
So we'd hop in the truck and get (A)all tagled up
every (G)chance (F#m)we (D)got

(Chorus 2)
Oh, we were (D)down by the river all night long
When the (A)sun came up I was sneakin' her home
And (Em)draggin' my butt to work
with the (G)smell of her perfume (A)on my shirt
I'd be (D)on the tractor she'd be on my mind
with that (A)sun beatin' down on this back of mine
(Em)Just when I thought it couldn't (F#m)get no hotter
(G)I fell in love with the (A)farmer's daughter

(Bridge)
(Em) We got married last (A)spring
Woah(Em) and there ain't no better life for (A)me

(Chorus)
I'm still (D)haulin' hay and feedin' the hogs
And that (A)summer sun has me sweatin' like a dog
So I (Em)cool off in the creek
And she (G)brings me outta glass of (A)sweet ice tea
I'm (D)on my tractor and she's on my mind
And (A)I can't wait till its quitin' time
And (Em)just when i think it can't (F#m)get no hotter
(G)I come home to the (A)farmer's daughter

(Tag)
(D) Yeah, (A) the farmer's (D)daughter | (A) | (D) -----

This clearly isn't right. The D-chord is really off from the sound of the song. And you can clearly see in the video that he isn't playing any of the chords listed here.

Thanks for the comments.
Watching the video, I'm sure Rodney got his guitar tuned lower in pitch by a half tone, which can be shown as Eb Ab Db Gb Bb Eb. He was placing his fingers as the key in G.
It's easier to play your guitar by the key in D by 4 capo than to tune it in a half tone down.
