Sara Evans - Suds in the bucket

  ---(capo 1st fret)---

Intro - A

(verse 1)
A D A
She was in the backyard say it was a little past nine,
                       D A
When her prince pulled up, a white pickup truck,

(verse 2)
A D A
Her folks should've seen it comming it was just a matter of time,
              D A
Pleanty old enough, when you can't stop love,

(verse 3)
A D A
She stuck a not on the screen door, sorry but I got to go,
                   D A
That was all she wrote, her momma's heart was broke,
                   D A
That was all she wrote, so the story goes,

(chorus)
         F#m
Now her daddy's in the kitchen,
E D A
Starin out the window scratchin and rackin his brains,
            F#m E D
How could eighteen years just up and walk away,
         F#m E
A little pony tailed girl, growed up to be a woman
           D A
Now she's gone in the a blink of an eye,
             A
She left the suds in the bucket,
          E A - E - A
And the clothes hangin out on the line,

(verse 4)
A D A
Now don't you wonder what the preachers gonna preach about Sunday mornin,
                  D A
Nothin quit like this, it's happened here before,

(verse 5)
         A D A
Well he must've been a looker, a smooth talkin sun-of-a-gun,
                     D A
For such a grounded girl, to just up and run,
                       D A
Cause you can't fence time, and you can't stop love,

(chorus)
             F#m
Now all the bitty's in the beautyshop,
E D A
Guess I'm going non-stop, sippin on pink lemonade,
            F#m E D
How could eighteen years just up and walk away,
         F#m E
A little pony tailed girl, growed up to be a woman
           D A
Now she's gone in the a blink of an eye,
             A
She left the suds in the bucket,
          E A
And the clothes hangin out on the line, ye-hoo

(lead chords - A - D - A = 5x's)

(chorus)
               F#m
She's got her pretty little bare feet,
E D A
Hangin out the window and their headed up to Vegas tonight,
            F#m E D
How could eighteen years just up and walk away,
           F#m E
Our little pony tailed girl, growed up to be a woman
           D A
Now she's gone in the a blink of an eye,
             A
She left the suds in the bucket,
          E A
And the clothes hangin out on the line,

(ending verse)
A D A
She was in the backyard say it was a little past nine,
                       D A
When her prince pulled up, a white pickup truck,
              D A
Pleanty old enough, when you can't stop love,
                    D A
No you can't fence time, and you can't stop love,

Dm I think you absolutely right...IT even sound better:)

-palamin0 | 6/5/2004
Yeah it's "gossip going non-stop"
-equine_luver | 8/7/2004
i think u got the lyrics wrong again where it says "a little pony tail girl, growed up to be a woman"...it should be "grown up to be a woman"...nice work other than that tho=)
-jessicadancer13 | 8/31/2004
also, where it says "nothin quite like this, it's happened here before"...should be "nothin quite like this, has happened here before"
-jessicadancer13 | 8/31/2004
Nice job! I was also noticing the "GOSSIP GOING NON STOP" ERROR A couple of other errors but, Other than that, great job.
-tripod | 9/9/2004
A lot of lyric errors there, and one or two timing errors, too. Correct those and I'll rate it a 10 :-)
-danielcraggs | 11/22/2004
Why hasn't anyone mentioned the obvious? Clearly the main guitar is a barotone guitar. No other way to get that low.
-adamrod | 12/17/2004
Why is it that every time I look up a song I like, it's Palamin0 who put it up? Nice work as usual!

danielcraggs |

I laid the foundation.....I do the best I can with the lyrics...I do not have the liner notes like most of you....I tab these b4 they are released in most cases so I have to get them by ear myself...

Timing???? kinda funny on a chord tab here concerning timing when there is no mention of timing...

Now if the chords are off that's one thing I'b be glad to fix those.......

(not ripping ya danielcraggs but it is ridiculous when people complain about the lyrics and NOT the chords when you tab as many as some of us here playing a line over and over a million times just to get a word or phrase isn't worth it...so if people have the liner notes with the lyrics...greaat....just leave a note of the corrected lyric and I'm sure everyone will be thankful))
