 D A
Monday, hard to wake up
          Bm G
Fill my coffee cup, I'm out the door
           D A
Yeah, the freeway's standing still today
            Bm G
It's gonna make me late, and thats for sure
       A G
I'm running out of gas and out of time
        A G
Never gonna make it there by nine

Chorus:

                            D
There's gotta be something more
  A G
Gotta be more than this
                      D
I need a little less hard time
A G
I need a little more bliss
                   Bm
I'm gonna take my chances
      A G
Take any chance I might
                      Em G
Find what I'm looking fo---or
        A D A G
There's gotta be something more

D A
Five years and there's no doubt
           Bm G
That I'm burnt out, I've had enough
        D A
So now boss man, here's my two weeks
              Bm G
I'll make it short and sweet, so listen up
A G
I could work my life away, but why
A G
I got things to do before die

Chorus
                             D
There's gotta be something more
  A G
Gotta be more than this
                      D
I need a little less hard time
A G
I need a little more bliss
                    Bm
I'm gonna take my chances
      A G
Take any chance I might
                      Em G
Find what I'm looking fo---or
        A D
There's gotta be something more

G A
Some believe in destiny, and some believe in fate
G A
I believe that happiness is something we create
G A
You best belive that I'm not gonna wait
                                  D A G
'Cause there's gotta be something more

D A Bm G
I get home 7:30 the house is dirty, but it can wait
              D A
Yeah, 'cause right now I need some downtime
              Bm G
To drink some red wine and celebrate
      A G
Yeah, Armageddon could be knocking at my door
      A G
but I ain't gonna answer thats for sure
                                               D
There's gotta be something, gotta be something more

I need a little more bliss
                    Bm
I'm gonna take my chances

Nice job, just one thing. At the beginning of the chorus it switches to an A before you go to the D.

After listening to the song on Sugarland's website, I think the proper chord marking for the beginning of the chorus would be N.C. (no chord), since Jennifer's voice leads the chorus into the first instrumental chord, which is the D that SouthernDrawl has already indicated. Using N.C. in this fashion keeps the chorus chord sequence consistent with the chord structure of the other sections of the song.

Anyone have any hints on the strumming pattern? I am having difficulty finding it. Oh, and great job!
-superstarkld | 8/5/2005
superstarkld, Suggest you go to: www.sugarlandmusic.com/start.asp
You can listen to the song as much as you need to get the strumming pattern.

Hey everyone

Regarding the Intro on Something More..I see the opening chords as DAGA..but I keep listening and playing and I keep getting EBAB.

Now I see this is 1 note off..but how am i getting 1 note off and no one else is. Try it out and let me know what you think.

Thanks..Chris

That is b/c the song can be played in D with capo on fret 2. This makes the song in E
-rewalker81 | 9/28/2005
AHH! Thanks so much. Makes sense now and much easier to play with the capo too.
-cwalsh2 | 9/28/2005
