My old friend I recall
F C Dm G
The times we had hanging on my wall
Am Em7
I wouldn't trade them for gold

Cause they laugh and they cry me
F C
They somehow sanctify me
F C G
They're woven in the stories I have told
And tell again
Am Em7
My old friend I apologize
F C
For the years that have passed since the
Dm G
Last time you and I
Am Em7
Dusted off those memories
F C
But the runnin' and the races
F C
The people and the places
F C G
There was always somewhere else I had to be
Am
And time gets thin my old friend
F C
Don't know why, don't know why
F C
Don't know why, don't know why

Cause a few simple verses was

Cause the love and the laughter
F C
Will live on long after
F C G
All of the sadness and the tears
Am
We'll meet again my old friend
F C
Goodbye, goodbye
F C
Goodbye, goodbye

Thanks for your work....maybe you could do "Just Be Your Tear." I would greatly appreciate it... -pktnermal | 8/25/2004 | Yeah that sounds 100% accurate, loving your work. -fishb0nes | 12/15/2004 | i think the Em7 should be a G/B other than that its good -denalitwinkie2s | 6/21/2005 | dasdfsd -fatdog | 11/13/2005 | Thanks for the tab. i love this song. it fits in really good since i just recently lost my best friend. i heard it on the radio today and teared up. its going to be a great hit for tim. thanks again. -catchme | 12/1/2005 | Does anybody know who played acoustic lead guitar on this song? Or where I could download it? -aram | 12/14/2005 | This is one good song, I think this is one of Tims best songs. I think that EM would work better then EM7. Thanks a bunch -Jordow17 | 1/4/2006 | Nailed the basic chord progression, except the Em7 is Em. Also half way through the G, the guitarist places his index finger on the B string on the first fret (relative to capo) and holds for bit, switching back to G. I think that is called a Gmaj7th. Also the Am switches to (Asus?) by removing the index finger. Listen for the changes, because the are subtle. That's my two cents on an already great tab! -jetson256 | 1/14/2006 | What is the strumming pattern for this? I'm still fairly new at guitar but I would enjoy spending valuable time presuming with this song. Thanks in advance -Samaelfallen1 | 6/26/2017 |
