INTRO: D A G A, D Bm G A

VERSE:

D A Bm A G A
Route 14, Box 308, she said goodbye at the cattle-guard gate,
G A D A
Hopin' she would find her a place in the world
          D A
With her mind made up and tears in her eyes,
Bm A G A
she almost made her daddy cry
           G A D
he said, "Don't forget to call when you get there girl."

PRE-CHORUS:
Bm G D
Drivin' on that 2-lane road hopin' she might find
Bm G A
A whole lot more waiting up ahead than what she left behind

CHORUS:
         D A G A D A G A
Moving' up-stairs, down-town, life's too short to be hanging a-round
D A G A Bm A
She's 18 and it's time she got out of the woods
G A7 D A G A
She's gettin' out while the gettin's good

VERSE:

D A Bm A G A
All bills paid and a room with a view, she's unpacked a dish or two
G A D A
She just got her phone turned on today
           D A
There's a big ol' world waitin' just outside
    Bm A G
as she's thumbin through the classifides,
G A D
lookin' for work at any old job's okay

PRE-CHORUS:

Bm G D
Drivin' on that cross-town freeway, hopin' she might find
Bm G A
A whole lot more waitin' up ahead than what she left behind

CHORUS:
         D A G A D A G A
Moving' up-stairs, down-town, life's too short to be hanging a-round
D A G A Bm A
She's 18 and it's time she got out of the woods
G A7 D A G A
She's gettin' out while the gettin's good

VERSE:

         D A
And she lost her job at the grocery store
         Bm A G A
and the wolf came knocking at the door
G A D
red notice said they turned off her telephone
D A Bm A G
There's nothing left for her to do so she's packed up a thing or two,
G A D
Loaded her car down now she's headed home

PRE-CHORUS:

Bm G D
Drivin' on that 2-lane road hopin' she might find
Bm G A
A whole lot more waiting up ahead than what she left behind

CHORUS 2:
         D A G A D A G A
Moving' up-stairs, down-town, life's too short to be hanging a-round
D A G A Bm A
She's 18 and it's time she got back to the woods
G A7 D A G A D -FADE
She's gettin' out while the gettin's good

This is one of the best songs of the early part of Toby's career. I appreciate that you took the time to add it. I have been looking for this since I started plyaing guitar and it's hard to find on other sites. I don't go to other guitar sites much anymore because y'all put great songs on here if they were hits or not. The other sites mostly only have hits. Anyway, enough of my little rant. Good job and thank you.
