This is a pretty good song. I was disappointed with the way that Toby recorded the intro (a little to Shania-sounding / yuck!!!), but at least it talks about drinking.
Nice tab! -WildCard76 | 11/17/2003 |
Good job tabbing this one. You did make one error in the lyrics i believe. instead of "foot on the floor" in the second verse it should be "four of the floor." (my buddy has that car) Otherwise, Great job! -someguy21 | 12/12/2003 |
yeah good tab, but it should be.. "four on the floor" not "foot".. otherwise good job -rutherford | 4/12/2004 |
Excellent tab!!! -eddojullio | 4/18/2004 |
Try a quick little lift of your index in the intro. For instance Bm Bm/A Bm Bm/A G. Thought it sounded pretty good. Let me know.
Killer job on this.

can any one get the solo
-Zipper | 4/26/2004 |
Just a thought, but on the intro, maybe it should be 2 2 2 2 3 3 3 3 3 3 4 4 4 4 0 4 4 4 4 0 2p0 2p0 2 x x x x 3 play it and see what you guys think -meow_meow | 5/6/2004 |
hey great job. one lyric note: i think its "something with a little more age..." because whiskey is aged usually at least 7 years -Aeroadc11 | 5/14/2004 |
nope the lyric she has up "something with a little more edge" is correct, the lyrics are in the cover.. -TK_Singer | 5/14/2004 |
Hey someguy21 no one gives a friggn care about your buddys car -Zipper | 5/16/2004 |
A little thing I do on this intro is (minus the capo)
C# at 4th fret (Main Position)
x x x x x x x x x x 8 6 6 8 4 8 6 6 8 4 4 4 4 4 2 x x x x x
Couple times and then step down to the A and then go into the E and verse.
First post, so hopefully it is understandable.

I hate people with nothing better to do than be stupid. -erotomania | 6/6/2004 |
this is how i play the intro, no capo
9 7 9 7 5 3 9 7 9 7 5 3 7 5 7 5 3 repeat and end with 1 before the lyrics
I hope someone tabs the solo soon. -dscott2003 | 6/9/2004 |
You forgot to add the ending of,
Whoa she's my little whiskey girl my raggid-on-the-edges girl Ah, but I like 'em rough Yeah, I like 'em rough I like 'em rough
It comes after the corus repeat 2x's... -sheryl | 6/17/2004 |
I agree, all I care about are the chords and lyrics, great job on the tab. TB is awesome. -boerneguy | 7/6/2004 |

i read most of the comments posted and i jus wanted to make one myself thanking all the tabbers, esp shantel, for the time they put in to create tabs for ppl like me who love country music and want to learn how to play...you all make me more excited each day about playing the guitar...thanks a lot -nms787 | 12/5/2004 |
Brilliant as always Shantel! -browntrout | 12/29/2004 |
COME ON! I can't believe no one else caught this. The CAPO SHOULD BE ON 2. It sounds wayyy too high on 4. On 2 it's exactly identical to Toby. I have the acoustic version of the song and it sound exactly the same with the CAPO ON 2. Great job otherwise. Thanks. Lemme know what you think of the difference. -TJC333 | 4/6/2005 |
It is very common for artists to sing songs live a step or two lower than on the recording. The lower it is it's easier to sing that's why they do it live that way.
Kenny Chesney does the same thing on some of his recordings. -Shantel | 4/6/2005 |
The capo position was buggin' me a bit and one day some time ago my 14 year old said, "Dad, I just saw Toby Keith and Scott E. do Whiskey Girl on AOL Sessions. Move your capo a couple spots and let me show you how Scott plays that Bm in the intro." This tab is absolutely perfect when you capo the 2nd fret. I love everything you tabbers do! You're the best!! -WillyJoe | 6/6/2005 |
Shantel....YOU ARE AMAZING!!! This song gets better everyday! Thank you!! -jojocoontree | 6/26/2005 |
