White Rose
Toby Keith
Album: Big Dog Daddy

Intro: D-Bm-F#m-G-D-Bm-F#m-G
D Bm
Yea, the whole town came out to watch, the day the paved the parking lot
F#m G
Somebody hung a ribbon up, and then they cut it down
               D Bm
And that big white rose upon that sign, put innocence in all our lives
F#m G
We could see its neon light from half a mile out

         D Bm
Gas was .50 cents a gallon, they'd put it in for you
        F#m G
they'd bump your tires and check your oil, and wash your windows too
           D Bm
And we'd shine those cars bright as bright, we'd go park underneath that light
 F#m G
Stare out at the prairie sky, there was nothing else to do

Chorus
            Bm F#m
Now there's plywood for glass, where the windows all got smashed
             G A
And there's just a chunk a'concrete, where those old pumps used to stand
            Bm
There's a couple a' cars half outta the ground
          F#m
And that old sign still spins 'round 'n 'round
    G A Bm
I guess the White Rose fillin' station's just a memory now

          D
And the girls would spend a couple of bucks
         Bm
Just to meet the boys workin' at the pumps
         F#m G
And we'd pull up and fall in love and they've all moved away
  D Bm
Strangers used to stop and ask, how far they've driven off the map
     F#m G
And then they built that overpass and now they stay out on the highway

Chorus
                Bm F#m
'Cause there's plywood for glass, where the windows all got smashed
             G A
And there's just a chunk a'concrete, where those old pumps used to stand
            Bm
There's a couple a' cars half outta the ground
         F#m
And that old sign still spins 'round 'n 'round
    G A Bm
I guess the White Rose fillin' station's just a memory now

          G D
And that neon sign was the heart and soul of this ol' one horse town
          A G
And it's like it lost its will to live, the day they shut it down

Chorus
                 Bm F#m
And now there's plywood for glass, where the windows all got smashed
             G A
And there's just a chunk a'concrete, where those old pumps used to stand
            Bm
There's a couple a' cars half outta the ground
         F#m
And that old sign still spins 'round 'n 'round
    G A Bm
I guess the White Rose fillin' station's just a memory now

     G A Bm
Yea that ol' White Rose fillin' station's just a memory now

i think it should be a f#m
-CoolCountryMan | 7/24/2008
You are right, the Fm's should be F#m. When the site was hacked and all the song deleted. We submitted our original song and the #'s did not take. We have to go in and insert the #'s. The site problem was corrected and will now take the #'s. I will go back and make the corrections. I am sure we still have more songs with the #'s missing. Thanks

Ray
