Thanks to the_great_one for requesting this. I had never heard of them before. I really like them. Their web site www.west84.com has some good links to other similar artists : corry morrow, pat greet, cross canadian ragweed,... -DaveWH | 2/25/2003 | awesome band,,but the website has been changed to www.wadebowen.com same great band just a new site -btween2thieves | 6/25/2003 | It's not "Sonny rode around and I'm alone again," it's "Sunday rolled around and I'm alone again."
And also, the intro doesn't make sense because it's not in the right key. I'm basing that off the fact that they're lead guitarists are very rock-oriented and they would most likely use the pentatonic scale of E like this
e-12--------15-- b-12--------15-- g-12----14------ d-12----14------ a-12----14------ E-12--------15--
or an octave lower: e-0----------3-- b-0----------3-- g-0-----2------- d-0-----2------- a-0-----2------- E-0----------3-- -pickerfromWACO | 12/7/2004 | I'll have to go check this again later. I did tab it with a recording of the song. As far as the E pentatonic, thats beyond my musical knowledge. I know what a pentatonic scale is but not how the scales go with chord progressions. All I had to work with was an mp3 so I figured some of the lyrics would be wrong. Thanks for pointing that out. -DaveWH | 12/8/2004 | Actually that intro would be in the E pentatonic scale.
E pent = e g a b d e g a b d e g (from your diagram)
Notes in intro = g dHe gag aPg aSb d bSa gHaPg
notes are lower case H S P are hammer, slide, pulloff (from above tab).
So all the notes in the intro are in the E pent. scale. -DaveWH | 12/8/2004 | I think that the E pentatonic you're thinking about is like this:
e-7------10--12------15- b---8----10------------- g-7----9---------------- d-7----9---------------- a-7------10------------- E-----------------------
which would make his scale one step down and having and non-pentatonic note in it on a--7th fret. Either way, there's definitely a better way to play it, I'll work on it. -RHBWACO | 12/16/2004 | Could you call the scale a G major pentatonic (aka, E minor petatonic) The songs in G, all the scales shown all work, the orginal notes shown are in a different pentatonic form(1 of the 5 for each key). It threw me off for a few seconds, just want to clarify for anyone at there whose just learning the pentatonics scales. Great song! thanks for the chords and words! -Kowboy33 | 1/2/2009 |
